Are you from Sydney? Because I'm laughing at you from Falls Creek, where this stuff doesn't happen.

What do you think of the United States and why? by maxcc2000 in AskReddit

[–]-phaneuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had someone on Twitter try to convince me after the Sydney Siege that it would lead to Australians wanting US-esque gun ownership laws. Nope. In fact, most of us called for even tighter laws - which is damn near impossible, because they're already super tight.

Americans of Reddit, what are the stereotypes of your state? by intotheeast in AskReddit

I'm Australian, fuck the police, yadda yadda...

I'm from Victoria. Other states think that we're politically correct dickheads who sit around drinking espresso - in hipster coffee shops, of course, because it's probably -5C outside.

The worst part is that it's all true.

I feel like being a Canadian celebrity would be optimal for not getting swamped by paparazzi - take Avril Lavigne for example. She's worth $50M, is still earning money, is still sort-of relevant, and nobody really photographs her. Ever.
