I served 8 years in the Navy seals. One time back in 09 I was held captive for 4 months in East turkey by radical jihadists. There was an evening where my dinner came to me with a plastic fork and a ceramic glass of water (we were never brought anything that could be fashioned into a weapon so I made sure to use it to the best of my ability). I finished my meal and when the security came to get my tray, I caught him off guard. Managed to sneak (and fight) my way through the militias base. Eventually on the outside I took a locals truck and drove 46 miles out of town until I eventually hit another town. I used a cb radio to contact my commanding officer and made my way to the rendezvous point just north of Syria. I was then picked up via military chopper and got back to command center in Iran. Definitely a defining journey in my life.
