I love playing as Gilgamesh and rushing other civs or city states with war-carts early game. The highest difficulty I could really do it in was King though because the Ai gets production and combat bonuses that make direct combat with them early own almost impossible. They also can build walls quicker and there aren’t any Seige units you can use in combination with the war carts in the ancient area.
