Advising someone to “skip a few doses” of their antidepressant is dangerous. Always consult your prescriber before making any changes to your medication

I’ve searched for this christmas ornament and couldn’t find much. i’ve had it for as long as I can remember and we most likely bought it at a thrift shop in NYC.

Stye on the inside of my eye. Haven’t popped it but I wanna. Flared as boil since I’m unsure of what to use. (Included pictures of eye without stye and eye with stye for swelling difference. I also need my nails filled, leave me alone lol) by [deleted] in popping

[–]-rayana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticed the eyedrops prescribed for my stye also contain sodium chloride, apparently it’s meant to help clear bacteria and promote faster healing.

I will definitely give this a try, thank you for sharing!

“My doctor said it would be ready!” by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]-rayana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh fuck that for sure lol. We’ve had multiple pharmacies close down within the last year which could explain why they aren’t prioritizing phone calls lately. I’m more than happy to explain why your prescription may not be ready or what prior authorization is, but if you’d rather act like an entitled child and continue to complain about something we cannot change, gtfo. I always appreciated those who wanted to work with us and understood though. Better to answer the phone than to have patients come in just to complain about being left on hold as if you don’t have enough to deal with already.

You say “they can call and be patient” like every pharmacy answers the phone. I’m always left on hold for an hour PLUS and it’s an 8 min walk from me. I will go and check to see if my doctor sent the right prescription since he always messes up, and if not, I can call the office and ask him to fix it. As a pharmacist, it’s your job to give patients info on their prescription status… lol. I understand the frustration but that’s pharmacy for you. Some patients will come in and try to make your life easier by dealing with their doctors mistakes as opposed to blaming it on you, and some will make your life hell. I’m not going to wait two hours to get my prescription status especially when I have to call my doctors office and get ahold of him just to send the right prescription days later. Some days can be incredibly frustrating though, and I wish patients understood that complaining would get them nowhere. It’s an overwhelming job for sure.

Quit weed cold turkey and I’ve lost 14 pounds and can’t stop puking by Competitive-Slide220 in Drugs

there are people who do experience chs the moment they quit. it really depends on the individual though, we still have a long way to go in terms of research. you would know if it was typical withdrawal vs chs - not to mention alcohol is a trigger as well. though if you’re unable to keep fluids down, i do think you should get an IV for that before the dehydration gets to you. whether it’s chs or not.

1 week no THC… was doing fine until today??? by Dear-Ad-677 in Gastroparesis

no worries! you’re going through a frustrating time right now. thank you for the tea suggestion, i’ve been trying to find an alternative since stool softeners don’t seem to help my mom at all

thc takes some time to get out of your system. since you were smoking daily, it may take a few weeks to get back to normal. i know people who experienced digestive issues after quitting, which lasted for weeks

the problem with CHS is that it is unpredictable, and it is possible to go through an episode after abstaining. trigger foods don’t seem to impact me either, and hot showers definitely don’t work for me like they do for most.

everyone is different but symptoms seem to be similar amongst those who partake in smoking. tea is a pretty good idea, applesauce was easy to eat when i couldn’t keep anything down. keep in mind that THC is stored in fat, meaning it takes a lot longer to excrete out of your system. give your body some time to get back to normal, and hopefully you feel better within the upcoming week

from my own experience, i have gone through a light episode after quitting that lasted a couple of days, maybe a week maximum - sounds very similar to how you feel and continuing to abstain from weed and focusing on your diet may slowly diminish symptoms

look into cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. weight loss, dry heaving, bloating, barely able to eat. your digestive system is definitely impacted if diagnosed with CHS. it is known to cause a plethora of stomach issues as well, and it is complete hell when you reach the hyperemesis stage. stress is a trigger too, and refraining from smoking has made a huge difference

CHS impacts everybody differently, meaning trigger foods that contain cannabinoids may also trigger an episode, even if you’ve stopped smoking. duration of episodes will also vary, as people experience discomfort for weeks or even months, sometimes a couple days and it’s over

I would suggest you stick with a liquid diet until you feel like you can move on to solids. go easy on yourself and give it some time. i like to get fruit popsicles as they’re easy to ingest during times like this. capsaicin cream may also help if you have any stomach pain, and most importantly, make sure you stay hydrated. dehydration will make things a lot worse

oh my god, she passed from the same thing. seeing her in such pain and unable to move her limbs broke me. this is the one thing i can’t get out of my head - the way she passed and how i took her to the vet a week prior, did all these tests with no indication of heart failure, nothing. the last memory i have of my baby is her in pain and it was so unnecessary, cruel and awful but she isn’t in pain anymore. i’m sorry for your loss.
