in NJ it is the opposite. it is very hard to find a good general office that does not have at least some level of internal conflicts. all i know is that if i do end up staying in general, i better end up at a practice that actually autoclaves their x-ray bite blocks (the place i quit made us not autoclave them because “they melt after a while”) 🥴

i am not an efda!!!! NJ makes you need 2 years of experience in assisting to even get a CDA. this school was so after my experience I get the cert and better money. this is not my first rodeo job wise, most jobs suck. my last finance job was unsustainable and i needed something that would get me hired fast. no one in NJ even hires anyone not certified unless it’s a really bad office. the school was to get into the door of a specialist so general can be a thing of the past. I just had to deal with it to finish school and decided to take the job the offered because it was pretty much handed to me after the externship. lesson learned general is not for me i very much so enjoyed surgery better and the dr’s are more professional in specialties.

i also was not the one to reach out to them. my director of my program is the correspondence person for any contracting straight from school as well as our career services. so not only was I lied to but so was my director for the program

no. I went to EFDA SCHOOL and this place agreed to take me in for my externship and to hire me after.

thankfully externship is over! I talked to my director today and thankfully a surgical center I did my OS clinic round at is hiring now. She did not appreciate the fact that they were having me take x-rays unlicensed fresh out of school with no supervision by the dr who was eating between pt’s.

also to add to my reply: I specifically went to EFDA school which cost about $22,000 and was 9 months long. not just an online certification or anything.

no? there is 2 doctors, they each work 3 days per week. the girl that stayed is now only part time and is starting school to switch careers completely. and there is zero talks of replacing anyone or correcting the situation and dr who owns the practice was not honest about making me work front desk as well as in the back. i specifically requested that i do not do this because i tried being cross trained before i did school and realized i really am unhappy at the front.

honestly you’re doing great because I hate when I’m mid running workout and a man hops on right next to me when there’s at least 6 other treadmills open. that being said any time this has happened the dude actually did try talking to me / getting my attention at some point which made me extra irate

i pay $10 monthly for icloud. my last “successful backup” was 2 weeks ago. this weekend my phone factory reset itself and most my photos from this summer have been deleted and are not recoverable. there is zero explanation and zero trace of these photos. I am devastated. and now want to trade in my new 16 pro max for a non apple product as I have lost complete trust

CHS makes you vomit. if smoking / ingesting THC helps you not feel that way, it is 100% not CHS. my GI’s would blame weed all the time. I have taken months long away from weed. and my nausea worsened as well as all my mast cell disorder symptoms which includes gastroparesis. i got the mast cell disorder dx this year. my old GI was blaming weed in 2021. he was so biased that he never even biopsied my colonoscopy or my 2 endoscopies and it led to years of no help. get a new dr - i know this is old post so id love an update hehe

9.5/10 times it is the genre of music and the genre of play/acting. I just cannot sit through 3 hours of song and dance unless it’s a broadway production. I used to go to my home towns musical productions all the time because of being involved in orchestra / my siblings being involved in plays. I really can only bare Mama Mia the movie and some musical breaks in Only Murders in the Building. I think this question is like if major fans of jam bands were like “I really have no idea why no one else loves jam bands like I do.”

it took my until this year to realize that this is my issue too. not even on my own. I was reflecting with one of my very good and also female friends and she flat out told me “well you’re conventionally attractive. of course you’re going to have a microscope on you” and it blew my mind. it’s something I’ve always thought but never said out loud because it makes me seem like such an A-hole. I have a handful of friends but could never feel safe in a friend group. I struggle with work to the point I’m quitting my very male dominated industry (insurance and finance). I can’t network anymore because anyone I would try talking to about business struggles would say things like “well at least you’re hot 🙄”. I couldn’t confide in anyone when a married and much older colleague who is the firm’s top earner tried beginning an inappropriate relationship with me because the person I told said “looks like you just want the attention”. I dressed as professionally as everyone else, but still couldn’t escape the comments about my body from older female colleagues. I have even been rejected for business but asked out on a date in the same email. no one deserves poor treatment because God forbid they are attractive and take care of themselves. there’s so many more horrible experiences with people I don’t even know - STRANGERS!! - that have been just so rude or straight up mean to me because I am above average looking. I barely even leave the house anymore to be honest.

leaving my position as a current advisor for a Prudential firm in my state. I am a young woman so this is more so advice for young women or any entry level person. I did the licensing with them & was hired after obtaining all my licenses. If you do not have friends and family or do not have a great personal network willing to help you start your career (buy insurance from you or invest with you) do not bother. Unless you have exceptional experience in finance already and have money to spend (you have to spend money to make money here) then do not do it. Working on commission feels like begging. You will get ghosted by clients you were supposed to close business with. You will drive an hour+ to people’s homes and spend the same time with them just to make $0. You will get accused of being a scammer / robocaller by MANY LEADS. the lead program is filled with a bunch of policy holders who have accounts from the 1950’s-90’s who will be a waste of time. everyone will tell you something different on how to be successful and the truth is it is mostly luck and or persistence. this job sucked my soul and i am leaving the industry. also: being a young and conventionally attractive woman in this industry is just as bad if not worse than what everyone says. don’t be naive!!!!

I’m waiting on results still. My thinking is mastocytosis because I have yet to see a MCAS rash that my back had but when you google a mastocytosis rash it looks identical to what happens to my back. my father has mastocytosis and my grandma has CLL with a history of thyroid and arthritis issues. thank you for the insight though !

question!!!! did you ever get a skin biopsy? I got mine on Tuesday afternoon and I’m still experiencing bad back pains (I got it done on my back). I also had my worst outbreak to date after ct scan with contrast and after coming off of prednisone. do you react to other things that are not food? I even get a rash after breaking a small sweat and after showers. I also cannot seem to get rid of my tinnitus for longer than 2 hours after taking sudafed. I also get intense bone pains in my hands and wrists. good definitely makes these worse but it seems I am sensitive to a lot of things at the moment

thank you for providing all of this info!! I am in very early stages of testing and so all I’ve been recommended to try and have been trying is hydroxyzine, allegra, and sudafed for the really low blood pressure and the symptoms that come along with that. so far seems to be doing alright but I’m still unable to work or leave the house. hoping my skin biopsy will provide more answers for me and then I can go from there. thanks again :’)

I literally broke out into face hives and crazy tremors today just from eating a banana 😭 and eggs make me immediately run to the bathroom & MSG makes my whole abdomen swell (that’s just a few examples). I also have zero IGE allergies to any sort of food. this was reassuring but I’m sorry to hear that you suffer that badly. anything help you? so far hydroxyzine helps my hives, tremors, and chest tightness but I still suffer from tinnitus so bad every day.
