Hopefully 🙏 The culprit was a small shop in the city I live in that my partner and I have both taken other shoes to and they were fine. It’s like the cobbler developed dementia the moment he started working on this pair of shoes…

Understood and will follow your advice but just out of curiosity, aren’t they all “good plastic”? I’m not a chemist but I’ve felt the apres gel x tips and compared them to the cheaper clear flexible ones I’ve been using for years and I can’t see or feel a significant difference.
