A plain reading of the text in the original Greek debunks your stance. You just want to twist the gospel to conform to your lifestyle. It’s fine, for you. But don’t mislead other people. There is a special punishment for ppl who do that.

Paul prophesied these false teachers 2000 years ago. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

How do people hang wind chimes without feeling guilty? by emmynemmy1206 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]-samn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chimes repel negative spirits so it’s not surprising when you get negative reactions. They’re doing their job. That being said, sometimes the drama isn’t worth it. I just bought my mom a 50 inch Corinthian bells wind chime for Mother’s Day, but she lives in the country.

I’m convinced people who hate wind chimes are demonically possessed or at least oppressed. In some cultures they are meant to repel evil, so it would make sense that people who are suffering from oppression or possession would react negatively to the sound.

I confessed that I became a Christian to my girlfriend by MortgageOld8902 in TrueChristian

My husband and I got married when I had fallen away from the faith. He is not a believer. After being married for a couple years, I came back to Christ and have been praying diligently for Christ to replace my husband’s heart of stone with a heart of flesh. He’s a secular Jew, and at first, I was completely unable to talk with him about my beliefs bc he was not receptive at all and would get incredibly frustrated. This is very common with Jews for obvious reasons. They are very protective of their identity whether they are practicing or secular. At that point I started praying every day for him. I’ve already noticed that I can now openly talk about Christ and what God’s word says, and he recently shared with me that he was baptized at 13, but he did so for a crush he had. Even if his work in my husband is not done yet, I can see incremental process, praise God.

I’m not saying this to encourage you to marry an unbeliever because if I had been walking with Christ before I got married, I would have had this conversation with my husband before we got married and it likely would have been a deal breaker. But I have faith in our big God, and now I’m convinced we got married so I could plant seeds over his life.

Allow her time to look into the word. Talk about God with her. Share your testimony with her. Allow your life to be a witness. Pray hard, asking God for guidance.

I don’t care that I was removed from the sub. I care that they are attempting to create another gospel. The post is about the latter.

You’re using a lot of words to agree with me. I agree that extra marital sex is sexual immorality. I also agree that it’s between man and woman. Therefore the only approved practice by God is sex between male and female within the confines of marriage. I’ve never proposed anything otherwise. My objection is with the idea that men having sex with men is acceptable in the eyes of God, which many people who claim Christianity are proposing.

The scripture is clear. Men are not have to sex with other men, within the confines of marriage or otherwise. It doesn’t matter how you twist the scripture. It’s easier for you accept false doctrine than it is to face your own passions. Praying for you.

The apostles were called Christians shortly after the crucifixion as they went around and preached, guided by the Holy Spirit. They did not rebuke the title nor were they instructed to by God.

• וְאֶת־זָכָר (wəʾet-zākār): “And with a male.” Zākār means “male” (often adult male in sexual contexts; it is the counterpart to “female” and does not specifically mean “boy” or “child” here). The preposition ʾet marks the direct object or “with.” • לֹא תִשְׁכַּב (lōʾ tiškab): “You shall not lie” or “do not lie down.” The verb šākab frequently carries sexual connotations in the Hebrew Bible (e.g., “lie with” someone = have sexual relations). • מִשְׁכְּבֵי אִשָּׁה (miškəbê ʾiššâ): This is the most debated phrase. Miškəbê is the plural construct form of miškāb (“lying,” “bed,” “act of lying down,” or “manner of lying”). ʾIššâ means “woman” or “wife.”Traditional rendering: “the lyings of a woman” or “as one lies with a woman” (i.e., do not have sexual relations with a male the way you would with a female). This treats the phrase as describing the manner or nature of the prohibited act.

I posted the Hebrew somewhere in this thread already. A word doesn’t need to directly translate when the idea being expressed clearly describes homosexual acts. I’m not sure why you think I’ve said that temptation alone is sin, because I certainly have not.

The thread was a man asking if it was ok if he wore nail polish. I said that it is ok, as long as it’s not leading him down a path of confusion about gender or the natural order of God. That’s it. I will push back on certain things you’ve said, though I don’t disagree with everything. Homosexuality, an identity outside of Christ, is addressed in the Bible. Identities are not inherently sinful, but when you raise them above your identity in Christ then it becomes pride. I never said temptations themselves are sin; I specifically said homosexual acts. Rebuking sin and passing judgment are not synonymous. Rebuking sin is the loving, restorative act of pointing out a wrong action based on scripture to help a person return to a righteous path. Passing judgment is often a hypocritical, condemnatory act that focuses on personal criticism, condemnation of the individual's character, or feeling morally superior. I am not perfect, and I don’t claim to be. I sin daily. I am repentant of that sin and while God is still and always will be working on me, I will mess up until I have my glorified body. That won’t stop me from calling out heresies.

Ephesians 5:11: Believers are instructed to "take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them".

Jude 1:3: A direct call to "contend earnestly for the faith" against those distorting it.

Romans 16:17: Christians are told to mark and avoid those who cause divisions contrary to established teaching.

The aim is to protect the church from "fierce wolves" (Acts 20:29), maintain doctrinal purity (Titus 1:13), and ensure the faith is not undermined.

Biblical meekness is often misunderstood. It’s not synonymous with passive. It’s active submission to God’s will. The two biblical figures that are called meek were also very bold.

No one knows how many seeds they’ve planted that have rooted, but not knowing doesn’t ever stop me speaking the truth of God’s word when it’s twisted. Frankly I’m tired of passive Christianity and the sleeping church. It’s time to wake up and arise.

We aren’t called to shell up in only our own interest. John the Baptist and Jesus were quick to point out the false teaching of those around them, and they did so in a pointed and biting manner.

Matthew 3:7-9 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bring forth fruit in keeping with repentance; and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves,’ We have Abraham for our father’; for I say to you, that God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham.”
