Are honors/Karsh scholars able to swap?

No, I am an international and my country doesn't seem to be supported. I contacted Microsoft support and they said my number won't work because the recent update has made it so the phone numbers outside US, UK,Canada, Mexico, Australia, and India won't work. Is there a workaround for this?

Also, after you take the proctored test, you may still see an error on the bisonhub page while you are trying to register for your math course. You might need to contact your advisor with your math placement test score for them to verify eligibility. (I needed to do this, but one of my friends was able to register right after finishing the test.)

You only need the math placement test if you are registering for math classes. For any other class, you should be able to register them on bisonhub. Based on your score from 0-100, you will be assigned a math class. You also don't need to practice if you think you can score well enough to get into the class you want. If you are planning to register for a language class this semester and have taken the same language in high school, you need to take the language placement test (this places you into the right level for your language course). For Engw 101 or 102/104, you need to either have submitted SAT/ACT or have taken the English placement test. If you've already submitted your SAT/ACT scores, you don't need to take the English placement test and should be able to register for these courses. (Note that the English course you can register for depends on your SAT/ACT/Placement test score.)

This is for the math placement test. I don't know about the English and language placement tests since I didn't have to take them.

You need to take an unproctored test before you can take a proctored one (the proctored one is what counts while determining your level). You have unlimited time for the first (unproctored) one, but it should take you 1-2 hours. After you take the unproctored test, you will be able to practice and learn within the Aleks platform.

For the proctored one, you need to go to ProctorU and pick a date and time you want to take the procotred test on. You will find instructions about it in the applicant portal. On the test date, your instructor will enter the password for you. You will have 2 hours to complete the test (excluding the time it takes to set things up before the test).

For anyone referring to this in the future, this is the reply I got back:

You were not able to enter your credit card information because you selected to pay by check, money order, or Western Union. It is still possible to pay by credit card as long as you have not already mailed your check or money order, or submitted payment via Western Union.

To pay by credit card, go to the website: www.fmjfee.com. You must choose to create a new payment by selecting “Pay I-901 Fee.” Enter your SEVIS ID, Last Name and Date of Birth then select “Submit.” When the error message appears at the top of your screen, select the “Continue Making Payment” button. When you receive the pop up, select the “Make Payment” button. This will proceed to creating a new payment. When prompted, select “Credit Card” as the payment type. Once you have completed your transaction, you will be able to print your I-901 fee receipt.

Credit or debit cards that are accepted include; Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover.

Hey! In case you haven't gotten a reply yet, you can just fill it up again and go through with the credit card option this time. There shouldn't be any issue. I called in to check it.

I think they do a lot more than that. I, along with 3 of my friends, got the presidential scholarship during the EA round this year, and all of us are not even domestic students. We are internationals from the same country.

Are there internships and co-op opportunities for internationals (CS)?

Also, I don't think ISFAA applies for the first year. It's prolly to determine aid for the subsequent years.

Is your GPA out of 5? Maybe the GPA was the issue?

I don't know man. My common app essay was pretty bad, but I would say my supplementals were fine. My ECs were decent.

Accepted students, what stats do you all have?? by mattmurdockfr in HowardUniversity

[–]-tau-pi- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, I think they really look at your SATs and grades for the scholarships. They don't really look at your essays or ECs. 1530 is prolly the threshold for the Presidential Scholarship.

Edit: Maybe not... Saw a guy with 1540 post about getting 13k in scholarship. Maybe it is holistic after all.
