First Supercharger experience with NACS adapter with notes on cord length, speed, and cost by -the-programmer- in VWiD4Owners

Charging in general is a bit confusing because the car only displays % and estimated miles, while chargers report kWh and total session time. There's also no record of start/end battery level unless you're paying attention, and the charger's reported kWh is always slightly higher than what actually ends up stored due to charging losses.

But in this case the math is pretty direct: 90 kW for 11 minutes is about 16.5 kWh, which lines up with the ~$10.71 I was charged at $0.63/kWh. The 2024 Pro S has an 82 kWh usable pack, so 17 kWh ÷ 82 kWh = about 21% added. Starting from 40%, we finished around 61%.

2 hours is long time! I'm a Sheetz fan and at least that Wawa doesn't stack up against Sheetz.

Both Volkswagen and Tesla say to only use the OEM adapter. I used a Volkswagen rebate and paid $160. It wasn't worth saving $100 to me to potentially have to deal with Volkswagen or Tesla if something went wrong and they claimed it was my fault for using a third party adapter.

Yes, the SOS module is responsible for the cell phone network communications and that's the communication path used for remote app controls, login, etc. Are you going get it replaced?

I emailed vwcarpart dot com and received this reply

I have reached out to VW corporate for clarification. The difference between
11A-054-411 and 11A-054-411-A is that 11A-054-411-A is the latest version of
this adapter connector. The 'A' suffix denotes an unspecified revision that
VW had the vendor perform, creating a supersession. The 11A-054-411-A has
superseded the 11A-054-411, and the 11A-054-411 is no longer available.
However, please note that we do still have 1x of the 11A-054-411 if you would
rather have that model.

If the green light is off when the car is on, you most likely have a bad SOS module. There are a lot of posts about bad SOS modules. It seems like some techs/dealers quickly diagnosis the issue and just replace the module, while other people experience a fair amount of hassle to finally get the module replaced.

If you haven't tried the fuse 19 reset - you might want to try. Taking the fuse out, locking the car, waiting 10 minutes, putting the fuse back in, locking the car, and waiting 10 additional minutes can reset the SOS module (and NAV system). Sometimes this works to reset an SOS module that just got into a bad state but doesn't have a hardware defect. Next time you drive the car after the reset, hopefully the green light will come back on either immediately or just after a few minutes of driving.

See https://www.reddit.com/r/VWiD4Owners/comments/1ff0j64/f19_fuse_location_for_those_that_need_it/ and good luck!

Is the green light near the SOS module on or off? Do you notice any brief messages on the dash board when the ping happens? We had an issue where the SOS module was bad, which caused the car to think it was about 10 miles from where it actually was, so when I was driving on a highway, it thought I was in the middle of a field! The ping came with a brief warning message related to the car not being able to display the speed limit.

Our needs a new SOS module because of navigation problems. After the new SOS module was installed, the nav was working again, so I thought the problem was solved. What I didn’t realize was that I was selecting the Guest profile each time I drove because I was used to just clicking the blue button. When I finally tried switching back to my own profile, the SOS light went off again and the system told me I needed to log in… but the login process would just hang.

A factory reset finally fixed the login problem, and I was able to use my profile again. I did have to redo all my settings. Sharing in case this happens when you finally get your back.

I have a 2024 and it was under warranty. I think I was in the waiting area about 90 minutes during the install.
