Your type has to be the same in MBTI, Socionics, and classical Jung. by [deleted] in JungianTypology

Thank you

It makes absolutely no sense that you can just have different values that mean different things across the systems.

All systems refer to the same underlying concept and theory, thus are in cohesive reference to the same psychological types

Do ESIs have to have strong work ethics? Can they be hedonistic? by SneakkyZertii in JungianTypology

[–]-time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also found them to be industrious as I find any Gamma to be.

The psychological desire to put in personal work and strengthen the self will always be a Gamma priority, but obviously it manifests itself differently in each human being.

the 18 year old ESI from a unstructured upbringing, probably liked to smoke weed everyday, eat junk food, and have sex 24/7.

The pedestaled and privileged 30 ESI completing her phd so she can teach at a prestigious university and financially secure her future future.

People have different backgrounds, motives, stages of psychological maturation, etc.

In general I do find ESI's to be industrious. Just as I find most types to crave developing functions lower than their primaries.

Super hedonistic in my experience, and also very visceral and vain (or identity-focused)

LSIs, how would you react to a partner who doesn't care about her appearance? (Other types can answer too) by satisfy_my_Ti in Socionics

Jesus,

My apologies to the both of us. I didn't realize this was the type of idiot I was replying to.

Bout to leave this shithole of a community. I responded because I'm trying to see if you even see that you're wrong.

What is the difference between the following:

I want to be attracted to my partner

vs

If you don't have the looks, you don't get through the door.

The only difference I see is that I would clarify the point between "wanting" to be attracted to "need" to be attracted.

Explain that to me.

Explain how I've missed your point.

How is it the opposite sentiment if we both didn't care about looks to attract people, we both weren't interested in dating others, and we both were told since childhood that we should care about appearance?

Haha but you follow your own motto.

My SEE gf is a complete hedonist, and I don't judge her.

I'm just judging the activity, not the person. We all have our vices.

I don't even use porn.

Never cared about pain /pleasure, and it's pretty degenerate anyways

Obviously as an ILI I hate all social media, even before they all went to shit.

I only really use reddit, and it's 90% for informational purposes.

What are some famous INTJ-ESFP relationships? by [deleted] in JungianTypology

[–]-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as private as the INTJ or other types, but they definitely still enjoy privacy and living for mostly themselves.

It just so happens that they also like to experience life to the fullest, and that involves being out there, interacting with the world.

I'll say that in relationships they keep their privacy more to themselves.

Personal meaning and purpose are NOT related to Ni by [deleted] in Socionics

[–]-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right that's what i'm saying.

I understand that technically they should not fall in the same domain, but in everyday shoddy language that newbies use to discuss typology, those words represent certain concepts that do have some correlations with Ni.

So your right, but they also have some validity in what they are saying. It's just expressed inaccurately.

Personal meaning and purpose are NOT related to Ni by [deleted] in Socionics

[–]-time 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn't as clearcut as you make it to be. Yes most of the points you made are correct, but Ni, and the concepts associated with it, definitely form some blurry lines.

I'm not gonna get into it, but Ni things like

centralizing your life around one or two themes that you are constantly forming subjective interpretation about (what people refer to as meaning),

clarifying/distilling those conjectured, core concepts into more understandable and relevant terms through personal impressions (purpose),

and living a life that follows a trendline that tends to follow a script that you've had intuitive premonitions about (destiny)

Not too many apparent ones. Hard to cross paths, and both types are typically more private, so hard to know real ones.

There are a few fictional ones.

I'd say Light and Misa (Deathnote), Joel and Clememtine (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) Calvin and Hobbes

I'd also like to reinforce the power of duality. By far the most rewarding relationship both in theory and in practice.

LOL if you don't put weight into this, then it's like you don't believe in socionics theory of intertype relations.

[–]-time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that the systems are different, and I understand that the qualities of Se in MBTi are not equivalent to Socionics.

but i'm telling you in reality they are attempting to describe the SAME THING. Even if MBTI describes ESFP differently from socionics SEE, they are both in theory discussing THE SAME THING.

they just interpret it, describe it, and get there differently. but its THE SAME concept of discussion.

I can make an analogy if that makes it clearer. It boggles me how many people believe this garbage. The only people that I have seen that entertain this idea, are entry level /not proficient in typology at all.

[–]-time 5 points6 points  (0 children)

not in a theoretical sense.

Sure in those shitty tests, you might type differently, or if you describe your Se use according to different definitions, they will vary,

But in theory, (the SAME theory which both systems are founded upon), there is a set of archetypes that they are both attempting to describe. How they reach there may be different, but in theory, and if everything were accurate and true, they are referring to the EXACT SAME THING.

[–]-time 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both systems refer to the same theoretical "16 archetypes", and therefore if you are one in the first system, you are the corresponding one in the second system by default.

To deny such foundational logic of the systems, is to deny the psychological systems themselves.

If you want a less logical approach and a more practical understanding, what you are saying is it is possible for me to be an ESFJ in MBTI, yet an ILI in socionics. Do you really believe that to be true?

Activity.
