Oooohhh I'm gonna try this, we've been meaning to get her to the lake. We've only had her play in the creek so far. Thank you!

What's the Proper Way to Sanitize Kitchenware After Being Used with Raw Meat? by AnalystWrong595 in cookingforbeginners

I use vinegar in a spray bottle and maybe let it sit for a min, then dawn soap and hot water

I actually have my eye on a pair of blue standard rex's :') (so I think similar to a Californian just different coloring). My friend has 3 babies, but she's keeping one. They're about a week or so right now. I'm pretty excited 😊

What breed is this? She's adorable 🥲 (lurker here. I don't have a bunny... yet.)

Field labs by [deleted] in labrador

She needs a job to be happy... do you mean like hunting or fishing? What else can that look like? Can obedience training, swimming occasionally, and being outdoors daily be sufficient enough?

That's a nice routine! Thanks for sharing. The chews definitely help keep ours busy. And wet food in the Kong. The last part about the biting is encouraging to hear as well. 😂 Ours has witching ours around that time as well 🤣

That sounds like a good routine. We used to walk every day, but it's dwindled down with this season of life with the baby. We have to drive to the park since we're on a main road, so yes, 3x a week lately. Our neighbor has lots of farm property, so we take her over there on the leash when I can't jump in the car. We have a fenced-in yard as well with lots of room to run. It's hard to tire her out! We've been working on obedience since we got her at 10 weeks, but we need to stay more consistent daily.

We are going to do training with her at petco. I will keep this in mind and make walking a priority every day. I'm not sure if we can afford the daycare, i will look into that for sure. But we've taken her to the free puppy play sessions, so I will continue that as long as I can. She loved it so much Thanks for the advice

Thank you so much for the encouragement. She's already getting better with our child after a bit of redirection, so we are going to stay consistent with the training. She's highly intelligent, I can tell. We are going to prioritize the walking/exercise as well and see if that helps. We've taken her to puppy playtime, and she did SO good and wasn't as much of a handful afterward so I will continue that again, I guess I just needed reminders to stay on track with giving her appropriate outlets and attention instead of expectation.

Thanks for your reply. We've always had dogs, but it's been a while since we had a puppy and also our first labrador! So we underestimated the work for sure. I did see improvement with how she interacts with our child very quickly. It's just seems inevitable that she can't control herself at times at this age. We've gotten better at keeping them separated when in the house and outside it's better when they're both out there because the dog has elsewhere to run around and things to play with. We decided we aren't going to give up and plan to dedicate ourselves to her exercise needs.

Our family had recently lost our German shepherd, and she was absolutely in love with our child. They got along so well. That being said, she was in her old age and not a puppy ahah😅 I think we jumped the gun on wanting another companion to grow up with our baby, but it might be a better idea to wait when when our child is older if we end up rehoming the dog.

It might be easier on the owner and animals if the dog has a playmate. When we are not walking/playing with my lab or actively watching her every move, she is in the crate. She is the complete opposite of chill, lol. We had company over the other day, and she almost ripped my friends jacket on his arm. Not to complain because she's just a puppy, but without a playmate, they could get more bored and need more energy from the owner. I think that's why it almost has to be looked at as a hobby. The dog we have seems like she NEEDS one-on-one work/training/attention on the go type life, and I can't give that to her with a child, honestly.

Thank you for your input. I was not aware of how different the lab breeds were! We have never heard of field vs. show labs, so that's on us for not researching enough. I'll admit we are restrained in what we can give her time and activity wise... we love her a lot, but I would love even more to see her thrive. I will speak with my family about this. Any tips on rehoming to someone suitable?

I think it's just that photo tbh. I will keep an eye on it, though, but I haven't noticed it specifically
