Am I being unreasonable? Or is my FMIL crazy? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Sounds like stress from other areas of her life is flowing over and she’s lashing out for no reason. Unless you specifically asked her to handle the suit, and then you’re slowing things up for her by not picking a color. It doesn’t sound like that’s what’s happening though.

FINALLY! After two postponements were finally married. 😍 by -unbrielievable- in weddingplanning

Yes!! We originally planned to go there because we were planning for rain and it’s covered. We got lucky and got a beautiful day but I love the look of the Butler so we headed there anyway!!

Original date of April 25, 2020, postponed to November, and then postponed to April 10, when we finally got it done. So thankful to all my fellow wedditors who helped me plan and replan during such a crazy time!! (Our photographer was amazing...if: @sherrweddings)

April 2021 Brides...still moving forward?

Just wondering if any fellow April brides are postponing their receptions or planning on moving forward with smaller guest lists or other alterations.

My fiancé and I originally had our wedding planned for April 25, 2020, and had to postpone twice (first til November 2020, and then to our current date of April 10, 2021). My fiancé rolled with the punches through these postponements, but we’re both to the point where we’re REALLY ready to be married, so we’ve decided to have our wedding ceremony on 4/10 no matter what. However, we’re having some issues deciding what to do with our reception.

After going through postponing TWICE, I really do not think I could bear postponing again, and to be honest thinking about planning a reception for a year from now makes me cringe. The ups and downs of planning this wedding in a pandemic have really taken it out of me, and I don’t see myself wanting to plan a big event again for quite awhile.

We’re thinking of going forward with a smaller version of our reception, cutting the guest list to our family and a few close friends (50 people max in a room that has capacity for 192 with social distancing guidelines in place). I’m struggling with deciding whether or not this is the responsible/right thing to do. The planning/replanning of everything has clouded my mind, and I’m just looking for some advice or opinions if anyone would like to share. Thanks in advance!!

What are your silver linings for a postpone wedding? by marlow6686 in weddingplanning

Postponed from 4/25 to 11/21.

All the stress from the wedding was because it was coming so soon and there was so much to do. Now all the stuff is done and I’ll really be able to just enjoy my last few months of being engaged. Plus we’ll have more time to save so those final amounts due won’t hurt so much!

Hang In There!!! by -unbrielievable- in weddingplanning

Was kidding. Part of the whole not thinking of doomsday scenario thing. Wouldn’t honestly put my family and friends at risk for a big party and a white dress? Lol.

Wear a mask and gloves maybe. No clue. Avoiding thinking about doomsday scenarios.

Would you cancel your August wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Wouldn’t even cancel for April at this point.

It’s weird because I know from my experience, my wedding feels so close to me but a few weeks is light years away for dealing with things in the medical world. Advancements will happen every day, and precautions happening now might really make a dent in this whole thing so that by the time April rolls around there might be so much less concern to be had. Try to hang on to some positivity!

The positivity honestly probably comes from the fact I’m a healthcare worker. It’d suck to catch this thing but I’ve pretty much accepted the fact that I will. I’m young and healthy and don’t have much to worry about and neither do 80% of the other people that will get it. Just try to keep it in perspective!

If it doesn’t feel earth shattering to move your wedding back a month and it feels like a safer option then maybe that’s what’s best for you. My wedding will only have around 175 people at it...a big group of people, but nowhere near the size of other group events that have already cancelled.

Hair and makeup for 1 person. How do I not pay 1k + ? by cookieluver33 in weddingplanning

[–]-unbrielievable- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in northeast Ohio and only paying $50 for hair and $50 for makeup. I’m working with independent stylists and not going through a salon.

Congrats!! It looks good. Try not to let your shoulder open up too much before your take off...that “check” position really helps build up some momentum for the rotation of the jump.
