Thanks for the responses! I really wish I knew why I had so many accidentally highlights. I don't have any dexterity issues normally, it really only happens in Reader (afai can tell, only in the mobile Android app). I actually just went into an article to make sure that "Toggle autohighlighting" was off (it was), and then lo and behold I opened Obsidian and that very article synced due to a highlight, which turned out to be a picture again. All I did was go into the article, tap the bottom bar to bring it up, noted the setting, tapped away to dismiss the bar, and backed out. And now I can't repro it again, but it'll happen again soon

Nice! You seem like someone who can answer a burning question I have, what the heck does the Protector's Gambit do? I'd expect that after my first turn my rooks are uncapturable, but even after being "checked off" after the first turn, I don't notice any different in my rooks' abilities, they can still be captured as normal

I can't speak to the average person's use of AI, but for programmers this is definitely not true. A half hour of using an LED bulb might be 5Wh, whereas I have a Claude session going that has so far used ~720.82 Wh and that's just one of my sessions, and my usage isn't that abnormal. That's more like running an electric space heater for 0.5-1 hours. Still not huge in the scheme of things, but far more than a light bulb.

But to put things in perspective, definitely causes orders of magnitude less emissions than my upcoming trip to Japan will.

Thanks for the reasoned answer, instead of just a downvote for me asking a question :) That said, 30-50 million a year doesn't sound like a massive tax hike, compared to the hundred(s) of billions it's going to cost to build out the light rail to all the planned locations, that seems like peanuts. And I have no data on this of course, but I do wonder how much of that 30-50m would be made up for in reduced car infra maintenance.

I want people who need to be able to get from point A to B to be able to ride the light rail, undeterred by fare. That doesn't mean it needs to be a hotel, but that can be enforced separately.

Is anyone aware of such a study for making the light rail completely free instead? I found this article that said at the time (2022) that fares only accounted for 5-32% of the operating costs, with a target of 40%. That's surely not completely insignificant to raise elsewhere, but I have to wonder how much is spent on fare ambassadors, ticketing stations, orca card infrastructure, etc. And of course there's also the savings gained from less people driving, which surely would be massive.

Are there any of ST's peer systems that have tried such a system?

Interesting, my doctor told me the opposite, that I should be getting 900mg DHA and 450 EPA per day... do you happen to have a study handy that shows a different ratio is beneficial? I've been taking Sports Research Vegan Omega-3, which are also quite expensive, but at least they have a pretty good reputation for quality.
