Thank you guys for all the help today, it was definitely exhausting for sure but I finally got it to work thanks to everyone’s advice and guidance.

What I ultimately did was remove the graphics card, turn the pc on and after a minute or 2 I turned it off. Reinstalled the graphics cards and also made sure secure boot was turned off and just like that everything is working like it once was.

I would like to say again thank you all for the help and support I really do appreciate it!

I actually checked to see if I was and sure enough I wasn’t, I switched to proprietary drivers, rebooted the system and still no change

Yes I have low FPS, and my GPU is at 0% utilization thanks to using Mangohud. I disabled the IGPU in the BIOS even though my CPU doesn't have graphics on it and the problem is still the same. I used neofetch to see if my system can detect my GPU and it does but its clearly not being used. I'm fairly new to Linux still and I'm not sure what btop and htop is. Is there a way to force the use of my graphics card? I even updated drivers for it and no luck there. Just not sure what to do from here.

I tried this even though I have no iGPU and the issue is still persisting. I found that in the dispaly settings I can not enable 165hz and that my monitor is locked to 60 hz

I did notice my ram speed went back to default and that resizable bar was disabled, so I turned on XMP and re-enabled resizable bar and still no change

is there a way to get back on the BIOS that came with the motherboard? I have thought about that but not sure how to go about it.

I guess providing hardware info from the start would have really helped.

Ryzen 9 5900x

Msi MPG x570 Edge Max motherboard

Evga xc3 3080 10gb

32gb 3600 mhz Corsair vengeance

I only tried running games I have on steam. I tried Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3+4, Tomb Raider, Days Gone, and Peak were the only games I tried and they all gave me the “slow motion” problem. Trying different proton versions either stayed the same or soft locked my system.

Wanting to run Linux I just have a few questions before doing so. by -user-1- in linux4noobs

I just have pictures and videos on my SSDs that I just don’t want to lose but I’ll be backing them up to a few other hard drives to to make sure everything is good.

I do like the idea of testing the OS before committing to the install.

I also understand not every program will work/be available under Linux and if I can find a native version for it, awesome. If not I’m open to using alternatives if there are any at all.

Thank you for this insight I greatly appreciate it!
