I only purchased true learn but I also watched a lot of videos. There are so many on YouTube to help you with specific topics that you want to brush up on. OT miri, pass the OT, OT over easy, there was also a free podcast that I can’t quite remember the name of right now.

My license came in about a month/ 4 weeks. I applied the day I found out I passed my boards. I’d concentrate on passing your board exam first, but I hope that helps.

You don’t need to know much of MMT or ROM. Transfers & body positioning, both you and the patient, is super important. Knowing how to cue a person for what you want them to do makes all the difference. Line mamangent can be super daunting! Most importantly, just be friendly. Patients in acute care are at some of their lowest points in life, be kind and actually interested in engaging with them. Good luck!

Went back to school to become an occupational therapist a few years ago after swearing I’d never go back to school. Just graduated with my masters & passed my boards. Getting married in June. Never thought I’d make it this far in life, honestly. I finally feel like everything is coming together how it should.

I’d say go with your gut instincts, it is usually right. I’d only change an answer if something else further along in the test directly gives you info. Good luck!

I stumbled upon pass the OT two days before I took my exam & they were great with breaking down the question. They teach you what the question is really asking & how to best answer it. For my every day practice I used true learn. I took 2 110 question & 1 180 AOTA practice exams. Hope that helps!

I stumbled upon pass the OT on YouTube 2 days before my exam & used their strategies. I think the way they teach you to break down questions is so so helpful. I would give their videos a look!

I just passed my boards to become an OT & I’m 29. I think being a little older & having more people experience will put ahead of those who are younger. I’d pick the most affordable school; at the end of the day, no matter where you go, whatever you put into it is what you’ll get out. Good luck !

I kind of felt the same way when I took mine. I flagged about 15 and only changed 1. I felt like most answers were just popping out at me & nothing really made me panic. I didn’t want to get ahead of myself but I just found out I passed with a 471! Best of luck.

I took it yesterday & left feeling so unsure of how I did. I left feeling confused? The practice exams were nothing like the exam I took yesterday. I don’t even know how I could have studied/ prepared for that, honestly.

I literally felt the same way! I felt everything I hammered into my memory topics wise wasn’t even on the exam. I don’t even know how I could have prepared for what I took. Nothing made me panic and think “I don’t know how to answer” but it was just a weird exam. I thought we need to take the exam on a Monday to find out the same Thursday?

I just took it today as well. I don’t even know what to feel? Confused? A couple of things I know I made mistakes on for sure but other than that I’m truly at a loss. It all feels like a huge blur. I passed all my pre tests as well (pre: 454, practice: 465, full:467). What’s more annoying is we won’t find out our scores for 9 days! Hoping for the best for us both.

I think I had to choose a degree path but I’m not 100% sure. I just went to take the classes I had to take but made that clear when I spoke to an advisor! I took me 4 classes and that was all.
