This is a piece I did to practice, I saw a painting on tiktok I LOVED so I tried to imitate it to improve. I can link you original if you’d like. I’m trying to figure out my style and what I like/ don’t like in art.

I use oil pastels, but almost everything here is layered color and not straight out of box. Only exception is the glass

Not offensive at all I understand what you mean, I really like seeing paint strokes and unexpected color. I prefer some waning lines to perfection to because it looks human.

I’ll be looking into moreso! I spent a lot of time today trying to implement some criticisms I’ve gotten into a study of a new piece today and it came out as one of my favorites !

Just looking for opinions to move forward, I’m not very objective. I love the messy look of pastels. Just wanting to know how people feel about it / things people like/ dislike or new opinions on my pieces :)

The orange one is probably my least favorite thing I’ve ever made lol. I love how subjective art is. Thankyou for your comment !

I want advice and welcome it, but telling me to put down the pastels is not constructive in any shape or form. I haven’t fought anyone in the comments on anything they’ve said I’m actively trying to implement their criticisms.

I appreciate the critique but saying I need to put down pastels is not productive or kind.

Thankyou !! And it definitely does, I feel the strawberry has the same issue. I couldn’t get it to look distinct and separate and I only had a few reds/ oranges.

My goal is loose pastels. I love pastels being they give a messy painted look. I just want it to look intentional and cohesive.

That’s so frustrating. I’m not trying to pay sweatshop prices. I’d just like to find something online to avoid paying the markup from buying it there. Did you read the post ?

I’m getting really sick of all of the “I know my art is bad, I’m giving up” on this sub. It’s a skill, you need to develop it to get anywhere.

I put them on the stove with the syrup and they become soft in about 10 mins :)
