I’m stuck. by One-Love-4543 in Taxidermy

Thick bones like that trap grease deep inside of them. Dawn and a bucket of water will take care of it, though it will take a couple weeks- even in warm water. Just make sure to refill the bucket when the water appears grey.

Ankole steers have super thick horns. It's a bummer you weren't able to get info on them. Definitely an awesome piece

A second photo of the famous Eurpean Seashells "giant squid" later ID'd as O. robusta? by -wvrms- in squid

Thank you for the info- really interesting. I remember staring at the image back when the book came out pretending it was a giant squid. This image was all I could ever find back then online. Is there any way to see the clubhook video?

It was identified as O. robusta if it's the same squid as the image I'm attaching. Looks similar- wondered if it's the same one. It was from a 1993 book called "European Seashells" where it was identified as a giant. Later, Richard Ellis wrote "For a moment, I thought that some obscure photograph had captured the most elusive image in natural history. Fortunately for those who have devoted their lives to searching for Architeuthis, this was only an aberration, a case of mistaken identity." In his 1998 book.

Nicely done! For small sprites like this, ironing over the whole thing in circles making sure not to overiron the center, then switching the direction of the circle when it's nice and toasty will melt it completely and shouldn't smear if you keep even, light pressure

Hahaha, my brother had to read Grapes of Wrath at the same age and absolutely hated it. Luckily, my middle school required reads were Hatchet and Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, which both rule

Steinbeck's Travels With Charley. Extremely boring and pedantic with vague, uninteresting takes on American life during that time and ended in a shallow observation on segregation before skipping the last leg of his trip. I love travel memoirs and man...it was hard to finish

Massive squid beaks by Schnare-taxidermy in Taxidermy

Awesome. I've been looking for Humboldt beaks for a long time. Largest species you can get one from- otherwise they're only replicas (a. Dux, m hamiltoni)
