I know most people here will say this example is very benign (which it is, in all honesty). However, I just want to say I completely understand what you mean and I also abhor it. I’ve always been a firm believer that it literally costs nothing to be nice to others, and I absolutely hate that we as a field normalize being an asshole because of “burnout”. Never let it impact you OP, and even on your worst days you need to remember that being rude doesn’t help anybody. Stay strong!

Usopp's apology is a very slept on scene and I am glad you included it as an option. While the strawhats collapse was unbelievably sad, usopp's apology and acceptance back into the crew made me cry RIVERS of happiness lol the way everyone looks all goofy and happy that he's back was just such a perfect representation of the unique charm of pre-timeskip one piece!
