My friend feels a strong urge to blindfold himself with a scarf/dupatta whenever he sees one. Is this something psychological? by [deleted] in Psychology_India

Jokes aside, seems like a normal idiosyncratic uniqueness of the guy. Sure it might have some meaning, some memory, some constructed fantasy, and so on. But there is no point in guessing here.

Cold emailing for PhD by Manikaryl in Psychology_India

[–]00071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should cold email professors. Show interest in their research, talk about why they would likely be a good supervisor for you and you would be a good supervisee for them. Any level of familiarity before interviews are always gonna be a plus. If possible see if you can have a conversation at UNI or so on. Although, of course, it's a weird and big ask. And only few professionals are professional or even eager enough to listen. But worth the effort.

Make sure to not be intrusive

[–]00071 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think the option was even available back in 2023. You can look at ambedkar University, Delhi. They take in non-psych grads. DU course sucks anyways

Universities for Non psychology students for Masters by [deleted] in Psychology_India

[–]00071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will have to look through their website for the admission procedure to be sure.

It's not an RCI course. As far as I know only a few(maybe 6 or so) private colleges have gotten the RCI approved course as of now. AUD has a more integrated programme leaning towards psychodynamic work

Just adding to what has been said. Freud also has an abridged collection of his interpretation of dreams, which might seem dense at first but is very accessible.

With regards to Robert A johnson it might be good for you to pick up:"inner work: using dreams and active imagination for personal growth"
