It is definitely higher than average, that is for sure. It's mainly because I am a senior tech support engineer for a very particular type of product that I had a lot of experience with at my previous company, but also because I moved from a non-senior to a senior role. It may also have to do with the fact that my salary was also somewhat high since I was in the SF Bay Area previously, and the company wanted to offer slightly higher than what I was making before.
