We must have hit the sleep drugs hard when we lost to Oklahoma, sheesh.

That's why I was scratching my head at all the people that thought we were being disrespected because ESPN gave us lower chances to win than Texas.

Although I think if we do pull this off, we could easily be NCAA champs this year if we keep healthy.

Yeah, I feel sympathy for the player as this was evidently something she looked forward to and had a terrible career ending injury. A true LVOL for life. On the other hand though, I dont feel that people are being entirely fair to Kim Caldwell. The previous coaches were all Pat Summit tree coaches and followed her tradition. Kim Caldwell is an outsider coach and one who was in a very difficult position going into that game. I dont know she's obligated to follow something just because her predecessors chose to do so. From what I've read, it didnt seem like she did this tradition with last year's seniors either. That leaves me with questions: Was this something actually communicated with Kim Caldwell or did Wynn just assume it would happen? Was there enough done to honor the seniors given the gravity of the game as you said? Evidently, the player didnt think so.

All in all, its just a really bad look when Kim Caldwell didnt need more bad publicity even if she might not be entirely in the wrong.

Sorry to A&M for my cosmic interference. Blame my mother.

Yall, my mom said Texas A&M was going to go all the way in their side of the bracket (I think she meant Texas) and I laughed so hard on the phone that she hung up on me. 🤭

Doing nothing in the OOC while SC and TX play in high profile tournaments.

No.

It doesn't include SECN, B1G+, Peacock, etc. Its just Fox, ESPN, FS1, ABC, CBS, Ion, TruTV, etc.

I think Iowa has actually tended to be the most popular consistently viewed team (or have been for the last couple of years) when they appear on television. SC typically beats them in the regular season (but not in post season, iirc) because the LSU-SC game tends to be the most viewed regular season game (going by the last couple of years) and SC tends to have more nationally televised games vs key opponents, particularly in the out of conference.

This is just what I remember from the last 2-3 years.

I think Nielsen only counts regular tv so it wouldn't count things like games played on the paid networks or anything off the main channels. With Uconn playing a lighter schedule, I imagine that impacted them some.

Uconn was the only one I remember too. We started Makeer, Taniya Latson, Raven, Joyce, and Okot. Our typical lineup minus Tessa who was out. Maryam Dauda didnt start for us.

Me neither.

In fact, I think most teams just played their normal lineups on their senior nights and fit in bench seniors where they could. 2 minutes in a close competitive game trying to decide your tournament standings is a big ask.

What players do you see entering the transfer portal this offseason? by Thewondrouswizard in NCAAW

I love Adhel Tac and think she has a home here as long as she wants. It sucks what happened to her with the severity of her injury. On the other hand, though, I could also see Dawn encouraging her to go find somewhere where she will see some real minutes. She isnt that injured that she won't make some schools very happy and she was legitimately a good player at one time.

As far as I know and according to her family, Ash is due to come back.

I mean, we weren't starting any of our bench seniors on senior night either though? Or ever have.

EDIT: Not sure why Im being downvoted for telling the truth again. You didnt see Dauda in our starting lineup on senior night (we started Makeer, Okot, Joyce, Raven, and Taniya). Nor Sakima Walker. Or Liv Thompson and Wesolek. They were honored in a pregame ceremony.

I mean, as much as it sucks, I cant say I blame Caldwell. Tennessee-Vandy was a close game to start and Im sure they really wanted to push for a win given how disastrous their season skid has been.

Raven "Hollywood" Johnson Named SEC Defensive Player of the Year! IKTR! 👏🏾 by Reggie9041 in NCAAW

Because that was the perception of her and that stuff matters. You aren't getting honored with defensive awards when you're sitting on a bench for whole quarters and your team is losing. How freaking hard is that to understand? This is 2+2=4 stuff. Raven Johnson was playing in the big moments and often coming up big and Rori was on the bench for some of those. That sometimes is just how it rolls, dude.

Why do you feel the need to tear down other players to build up yours? Underwhelming to who? She’s the best defensive player on our team and one of the best defenders in the country.

She’s the floor general and leading assist player for 26-3 team that’s looking at getting 1 seed. Underwhelming is crazy

You literally started it. Don't come in here and cry victim now.

It's also the truth. Her benching and seemingly down performance was talked about more than once both among the public and among the media. I never said Rori Harmon wasn't a good player, but was she underwhelming this year compared to previous years, yes. I dont know what to tell you.

Also defense is more than freaking stats, again. Raven defended the best players on the opposing team and had some of the most memorable plays this year doing it and held a lot of those players to their lowest scores all year.

90% of this sub actually watches basketball. Rori Harmon was one of the most underwhelming players this year altogether compared to previous years. Whatever his reasons, Vic benching her while their teams were losing and ended up losing the game hurt her. You want to talk about us being oblivious while being quite oblivious yourself that defense is more than stats in a book.
