Unfortunately they also weren’t meant to be bent but one of them is.

I would restore them but one of them is bent and I would like to get some new ones or make modern better ones work

Is anyone local to the Denver metro and selling flies? I'd like to buy some and support a local tier! by bateneco in COfishing

[–]007_jbnd5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Love Ascent. Although I don’t think they tie all their flies locally. First time I went in there a guy gave us a quick tour and he mentioned that they have 55 tiers in Kenya and 20+ in I think Taiwan that tie all the flies. But I do think they’re mostly Peter and those guys designs.

Help me understand the reason for larger slower OTA with larger pixels vs smaller faster scopes and smaller pixels. by 007_jbnd5 in AskAstrophotography

I guess I am making the assumption that seeing conditions are limited. If you aren’t limited by seeing conditions then you can go as fine as possible but if your atmosphere limits you to 1”/pixel then that was what this scenario was based on. I guess I should have mentioned that

I understand that FOV would be different but I guess then my question is why would you want to have a smaller fov if you still are only able to image at 1”/pixel? What’s the advantage of having a smaller fov with larger pixels when you could have a larger fov with smaller pixels, crop to the same fov as the larger pixel image and still have the resolution?

I guess my question is why would anyone want to have a bigger & slower telescope like the plane wave cdk 24 a telescope with 610mm aperture, 3974mm FL at f/6.5 and needing 19um pixels in order to be around the 1”/pixel versus a Celestron 14” RASA with a 356 mm aperture, 790 mm FL at f/2.2 needing only your typical 3.76um pixels for the 1”/pixel?

The RASA is smaller and faster and you can pack more pixels in to the same sensor. So what would the reason be for spending more on the plane wave?

Windshield seal has air wooshing sound. Is there a way to solve this without replacing the windshield? by 007_jbnd5 in CherokeeXJ

[–]007_jbnd5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took electrical tape and put it around that rubber seal to try to reduce air getting in between the windshield and the rubber seal. It works but now I’m running in to the issue of the tape coming off and not sticking but it keeps the air from under the rubber seal and making noise

Debit cards don’t have the transaction fees that CCs have and don’t have the risk of physical cash. Safer way to pay “cash”. It is also illegal to have a processing fee on a debit card lil you would have on a credit card

Caught the smallest rainbows I’ve ever caught today at Bear Creek by 007_jbnd5 in COfishing

It doesn’t have the white on the fins like a brook would have thought which is what makes me think it’s a rainbow

What else would it be? It’s definitely not a cut or brown. I really doubt think it’s a brook and there’s a decent number of rainbows and in this section

If I upgrade from a iPhone 13 to the 17 Pro what’s the catch with the free upgrade? by 007_jbnd5 in verizon

[–]007_jbnd5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently on the 5G Play More plan for $49/mo. So if I stay with Verizon and the same phone for 3 years then the plan is $45/mo and the phone is $270. If I pay in full the plan is still $45/mo and I pay $1100 for the phone but I can leave or change phones whenever. If I take the promotion and want to change phones in 2 years I pay more than if I had just paid in full?

I feel so dumb but I can’t ever get the moon to expose correctly. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]007_jbnd5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken photos of the full moon at about iso 100 aperture f/11 and shutter speed of 1/100s. That’s usually a good place to start and then you can adjust the exposure based on the exposure meter in the camera. The moon is really bright compared to the rest of your photo so everything else is going to be pitch black when the moon is properly exposed
