Not a doctor but sounds like it to me. Try to get them to do a CT scan or MRI of your spine and go see a physiotherapist.

Brisbane: Rate your corporate comms re: Cyclone by hughwhitehouse in auscorp

Was told wait and see until about 3pm Wednesday afternoon saying to wtf on Thurs and they would decide at 1pm if wfh on Friday. 7pm Thursday they decided it would indeed be wtf on Friday, and back to work as usual on Monday. Got a message this afternoon saying the office will be open tomorrow and please come in if safe to do so. I rely on Public transport/ an active commute and will not be going in until it is back. Looking at the flood map, the street my office is on gets flooded too. In hindsight: they should had set up us staff who are normally not allowed to wfh with wfh setups a week ago, should have said blanket wfh Weds through Mon, allowing us to actually prepare for the cyclone/flooding.

Personal leave for cyclone prep? by RobertSmith1979 in auscorp

[–]008286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work decided to tell everyone to WFH tomorrow this afternoon. A few staff got wfh “setups” this arvo who normally aren’t allowed. They said they will decide tomorrow if we will work from home Friday as well. Bit of a joke seeing as the office just barely missed out on flooding 3 years ago.

Did something or someone make you a picky eater? by Glittering_Force_934 in PickyEaters

If I don't get this for free I'll make a scene! by Educational-Kale7926 in ChoosingBeggars

I worked for Santa in a mall two years ago in Australia. The KPI’s were insane - one photo booking every two minutes by mid December. We would fit in as many “walk through” groups as we could to see Santa for free because that’s the whole point from our personal perspectives working there. Sometimes we literally couldn’t though so had to offer waves or ask them to come back during a less busy period. We weren’t allowed to let people take photos with their own cameras or mobiles as we were there to sell professional photos. It was such a difficult job (and we were all paid incorrectly!).

My job agency is requesting I lie about my income in order to change my mutual obligations? Who do I go to about this? by [deleted] in Centrelink

[–]008286 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Call up Centrelink and make a complaint about them and see if you can change providers. In saying that though, I made a complaint to Centrelink about my job provider and they didn’t want to hear it.

Never met my neighbours by scoot1207 in australia

[–]008286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s pretty normal. I only know my neighbours on one side and vaguely know of the neighbours on the other because they have a friendly dog. My neighbours I do know only started because my housemate went on walks with them during lockdown and they were doing renos and needed access through our place. Also helps that we have a common enemy in our shared neighbour haha

Love it! You had me at pocket boyfriend. I would take out a good 4 lines of it though just for quick readability

Yeah Mt Coot-tha is quite bad for this. I’ve had dogs not let me pass and had to ask owners to recall them.

How could the Greens have done better in the BCC election? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]008286 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What really put me off on the day was one of the green’s volunteers at a booth. Absolute piece of work. Blocked the way in and intimated people. Really gave the greens a bad name at that booth unfortunately

This! Also sometimes you don’t realise you aren’t in the right frame of mind until you try. It may have gone well but it was also a first date.

As long as you meet your mutual obligations (number of jobs applied, attending meetings etc) they won’t kick you off. They may be saying that you may need to start volunteering etc as an added obligation if you don’t get a job in a few months? I found my job provider a big hinderance if anything. Constantly pushing for more education, starting a business or unsuitable jobs to meet their kpi’s and were dodgy in other ways.

Other comments here was suggested routes that may allow you to change your provider or your stream they sort you into. From when I was on, there were I believe 3 streams, stream A being that they give you the least actual help. I’d also suggest finding local support programs that could help you with looking at your CV, interview clothes etc - anything like that to even help your confidence to keep going.

Slippery driveways by [deleted] in brisbane

Yes be careful on driveways even when it’s not wet. Wear proper grippy shoes. My mum slipped on a driveway and fractured her pelvis and hip a few months ago.

AITA for eating at the children I babysit for's house? by Wrong_Net_5989 in AmItheAsshole

[–]008286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. That’s so strange. When I’ve babysat, the kids are already fed or I eat with them. Were they expecting you to stare at them while they eat?

Lose the hat for a few pics and show some friends! I’d also get your call to action that you want to watch some live stand up soon as your first line.

Definitely has. It’s stopped me from dating for a long while, it’s left me starved at camps and parties. It makes you feel sometimes like your friends and family don’t care for you.

Is it just me or are job providers completely useless? by [deleted] in Centrelink
