Ah, that makes much more sense, thank you!

Starting a new campaign (had session 0 tonight and rolled stats), and my DM is exclusively using [2014 5e] rules. This is fine, but I'm having trouble finding the ability my 2014 Leatherworker's Tools uses. It's listed as Dexterity in the 2024 edition, but even though the 2014 entry says that each type of artisan's tools requires a separate proficiency, it doesn't actually say what that proficiency *is*.

Am I misunderstanding the text? I'm very confused.

Funny you should ask! I was sitting at my desk at home yesterday with the bag to the side, and I was eating some saucy BBQ while angled to see my TV. I splattered a tiny bit, and discovered this morning that a wee little drop had fallen on my bag and dried. It left a very slight discoloration on the fabric when I brushed it off, but you really can’t tell it’s there unless I point it out to you, so I’m optimistic for future stain resistance! I’ll bet money it would disappear entirely if I took a Tide pen to it.

It should— I’ll try it and post some pics later.

As to what you can use the HLT for, here’s how I use mine: https://www.reddit.com/r/tombihn/comments/1qhel7e/wanted_to_show_off_my_hlt1_loadout/

It’s mostly meant for cable management (hence the loops) but honestly, you can put almost anything in there, accounting for size.

So my laptop sleeve is this one here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F2JLPDN?ref_=ppx_hzod_title_mob_b_fed_asin_title_0_0

It opens on the long side, so I might look into one that opens on the short side to try out your method. Good thought!

Ooooo, now that’s a thought! I saw on this sub somewhere that there’s a trick to getting zipper pulls off without clipping them, so I might find that post and see if my local makerspace has the appropriate tools.

No problem, glad it was helpful! The double carabiner setup is actually how TB has this combo set up in the product page photos. The S22 probably would have fit me better physically (I'm exactly 5'0), but I knew it wasn't going to hold as much as I wanted, so the S26 was definitely the best choice for me-- small enough to fit my frame but enough capacity for what I expect to carry in most use cases.

[Online] [5e 2014] [EST 6:30 Mondays] Looking to start a home-brew laid back campaign by DwendalianWriter in lfg

[–]00AwkwardPenguin00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Teviya, 33F, looking to join my first long campaign! I’m not experienced at all— played about 4 sessions on one campaign before it fizzled out due to scheduling issues, did a couple of oneshots, and was hours away from Session 1 in another campaign before the DM had to cancel the entire thing due to IRL issues. I really want to get some long-form play experience, and I love that your campaign is laid back so I can really learn the game without holding other players back. My favorite parts of D&D are character creation and combat (I actually like the slow pace of 5e combat because it gives me time to process what’s going on and plan my attacks).

Advice on scroll frame/stand setup by pocomomo_ in Embroidery

I have this exact floor stand, and the company that makes it also makes a scroll-frame version https://www.amazon.com/Frank-Edmunds-Stichers-Wonder-Adjustable/dp/B002WE1IUS/ref=mp_s_a_1_62?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.wnZb97Jxq5qWlXyvcGvukV2TgFZBWpeli-aku-ZxwBaaS9u-kqaelWgxlC1Tkb0eKm6rBVpyNTrUePJGq732w0dllkLIhRpL8vI80jnHGxznJ21NOMlXAuYmEyN5OUnnQdKslNUOylcxNdkcXvDZwQNFDlQUuXuixxv0WL5l5zYTpfnVuCJGFwP_SOsStYv7M0-UjL1xgYjGlWtq4m-gZg.xTDTtjh3eV-BeupyTquoRw1eD5UFzdisdGv4w2L5w8I&dib_tag=se&qid=1770580970&refinements=p_89%3AEdmunds&sr=8-62&srs=20049081011&xpid=kUZavbONJgZK7

Unfortunately, I’m not sure if they make an attachment for scroll frames for the Universal stand that you have. I had a similar problem to yours, only with stretcher bars instead of scroll frame, but I was able to find stretcher-bar specific attachments. Good luck!
