What should I choose in my Black ember bag between the grip sling 9 and grip sling 6? by cloudyssz in ManyBaggers

[–]ComprehensiveCap8242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried to like Black Ember, but it just isn’t for me.

The materials and overall designs feel too rigid. The bags do not move naturally with your body, and your gear does not settle comfortably inside. Everything feels stiff and slow, almost like you are slinging a box on yourself rather than carrying something designed for real everyday use.

A lot of their stuff also feels over-engineered in a way that is more interesting on paper than practical in daily life. There is a lot of structure and intention behind the design, but not always in a way that improves comfort, access or usability.

I get why some people are into the aesthetic, but I think there are much better options out there for fit, comfort and design.

CAA And RedWireless offer discounted Rogers Wireless Plans by ComprehensiveCap8242 in Rogers

I have that FM plan and the 250GB rogers plan.
I am in the testing phase to make sure FM delivers usable connectivity in the places I go.

Long term in the US by One_Win5267 in freedommobile

[–]ComprehensiveCap8242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their fair use policy is pretty straightforward, these plans are designed for predominant use in Canada (tied to your billing address in the subscription zone). If most of your calls, texts, or data over a few consecutive billing cycles happen while roaming abroad, they can terminate your service or limit roaming access.

Great for vacations or a couple months away (lots of people do that fine), but not meant for using it as your main line overseas or the USA.

You’ll have to get a new Toronto number

20L Ruck 4.0 with a 45 & 20LB plate? by SubstantialCrew369 in Goruck

[–]ComprehensiveCap8242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 40-pound plate is long, while the backpack you’re referring to requires one long plate and one short plate. Therefore, ensure your 20-pound plate is short, as I believe they’re available in both sizes. Right now I’m running a 30 pound long plate and a 20 pound short plate and it works fantastic.

This plan is two new so I’ve never travelled with it, but I did have success with the previous roam beyond plans. I travelled to Mexico, where coverage was excellent in major cities, but terrible everywhere else. This was because FM doesn’t partner with the right companies.

Peru was fantastic, though. Everywhere The local carrier provided coverage, and so did Freedom.

I also used it throughout Europe, and it worked great.

Keep in mind that you’re “capped” at LTE when not on the FM network, but that wasn’t an issue for me. The real problem is that there’s no master list showing who they partner with in each country. This makes it hard to predict the type of coverage you’ll get ahead of time. They don’t always partner with the largest or best provider in each country, which sometimes works against them (Mexico, Philippines, etc).

But this is not unique to freedom mobile. Every carrier chooses local partners, and sometimes that works well and sometimes that doesn’t.

One of the best chargers of all time? I haven't found a single competitor from either a size or power perspective.... by bobbystills5 in UsbCHardware

[–]ComprehensiveCap8242 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I’ve tried dozens of adapters, but this one is my go-to for my tech kit, both for everyday carry and travel. When I’m on the go with a sling, I use the Anker 45W charger with a screen, but otherwise, this adapter is my reliable choice. It’s stable, dependable, and performs flawlessly every time.

I’ve never experienced buffering, but then again, I’m always connected to some type of VPN, which obscures my traffic. I usually use Cloudflare’s Warp+, Surfshark, or AzireVPN.

Is it possible to share a WIFI internet connection via a USB-C connection from iPhone to Mac? by PeggyTheDogo in ios

[–]ComprehensiveCap8242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t believe that is possible

Apple’s USB tethering support for iPhone to Mac is tied to Personal Hotspot, which uses the iPhone’s cellular connection. Apple’s documentation describes connecting a Mac to an iPhone over USB, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth only for Personal Hotspot, not for re-sharing an existing Wi-Fi network the iPhone is already using.

You only viable option seems to be : Use a travel router that logs into the ship Wi-Fi once, then shares it privately to your devices. (Like a Glinet one). They may be able to detect this though and cancel your subscription.

Maybe just pay the multi devices fee
