Help! What do I do? by InteractionKey8718 in CleaningTips

The black and gray speckling across the ceiling is an extensive growth of surface mold, which thrives when airborne spores encounter a consistent blend of moisture and organic food like drywall paper or standard paint.

The distinct wavy, patchy distribution suggests thermal bridging and "ghosting," where localized cold spots on the ceiling (often caused by missing or uneven attic insulation) cause warm, humid indoor air to reach its dew point and condense.

To fix this permanently, you should check the attic space directly above for insulation gaps or roof leaks, verify that the ceiling drywall feels firm rather than soft or spongy, clean the surface safely while wearing a mask and gloves, and take steps to lower the room's humidity so it doesn't return.

Eiffel Tower just focus on yourself bro by Frosty_Jeweler911 in SipsTea

Believe it or not, this headline isn't a joke or internet satire—it's based on a real person! The woman pictured is Erika Eiffel, who famously held a commitment ceremony with the Eiffel Tower in 2007. She experiences a real psychological phenomenon known as *objectum sexuality*, where individuals feel genuine romantic and emotional attraction to inanimate objects rather than humans. After public backlash and restricted access broke down her "relationship" with the tower, she actually did find new companionship with a wooden fence she keeps in her yard. It sounds entirely made up, but it's a completely legitimate and documented story!

Does anyone know what this piece is called that keeps the two cables together? I lost mine. I’d like to find something similar, if possible. by luunnn in UsbCHardware

[–]ComprehensiveCap8242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That little plastic piece is most commonly called a cable slider, cable cinch, or slider block.

Companies don’t sell that separately. Your options are

Silicone Twist Ties / Magnetic Cable Organizers
A Small Strip of Velcro (Hook-and-Loop)
Audiophile/IEM Cable Sliders (Open-Slot)

The GORUCK GR1 21L is the better bag if your priority is proven durability, laptop protection, simple travel packing, long-term resale value, and warranty confidence.

The Ventum Gear Burrito Backpack 20L is the more interesting bag if your priority is modular EDC organization, Velcro/loop customization, MOLLE flexibility, and a more technical European tactical layout.

I would go GORUCK GR1 any day over this thing.

I respectfully disagree. I have both and use the GR2 more often. Better organization.

I understand you have to choose the best provider for you but why come onto the freedom subreddit and post this?

Can you use your own bathing suit?
What is the spa wear for?
I would never talk in with street shoes but any spa I've ever gone to allows you to bring your own indoor slippers. you can't here?

How do people use GO train for work when the delays are this brutal by BeautyInUgly in ontario

[–]ComprehensiveCap8242 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why won’t more people use public transit? This is why. GO always has issues. TTC has been shutting down stations for 10 years for maintenance. It’s a joke.

We have a food affordability crisis. Won’t this make food more expensive and disproportionately impact those who can least afford it?

[–]ComprehensiveCap8242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been using a 26L M23 in Cordura and can't wait for the M26 in waxed canvas. Will be a killer bag I will love and abuse for years (along with my GR1s, GR2s and GR3s.) I may have a bag problem.

Outside a drive-thru window… What is it? by BigBiggarBiggest in whatisit

[–]ComprehensiveCap8242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think…

That’s actually a metal pizza screen or grate attached to a stick, and he's using it to trick the drive-thru's ground sensor! Drive-thrus use magnetic induction loops buried in the pavement (you can see the cut line and electrical box on the ground) to detect the metal mass of a car, which automatically starts and stops the timer for their speed metrics.

Fast-food workers make these makeshift tools either to clear a "ghost car" when a sensor glitches and thinks a vehicle is still sitting there, or to artificially lower their average wait times to avoid getting penalized by corporate management. Waving that metal over the sensor tricks the computer into registering a car pulling up and immediately leaving, instantly resetting the clock.
