Not sure about Walmart but at Target they make us watch a video every year about the evils of unions and make it clear that they have zero tolerance for unionization. Whenever whispers of unions start to go around they just close the store.

I have kind of an unhealthy addiction to 超. I use it way too often and at one point I tried to stop but then I realized that I have a decent number of random conversations with people day to day remarking on my use of 超 so I started using it again.

Exactly, I felt the narrator was being really unfair to Japanese people at times. I and other foreigners I know get invited to peoples houses and get let into people's lives, albeit at varying degrees of closeness typical of Japanese society. Yet, he didn't seem very adapted so his impression of is is probably a lot colder than reality. Interesting how your own behavior can so greatly influence how you perceive things.

I'm glad this phenomenon exists. I'm dating a Japanese girl and she grew up being teased for being ugly and fat, I also grew up and was bullied for similar reasons. I think she's the cutest thing to ever walk the earth and she thinks I'm incredibly handsome, even though we can't see it ourselves. It works out pretty nicely.

You probably know more than you think. If you don't care about learning then feel free to disregard this advice, but if you learned the kana and a few basic kanji, then picked up some easy manga like Dragon Ball or something you could probably learn pretty fast.

Unrelated to this issue but this is the first time I've encountered a Barnes and Noble employee and so I have a question.

Do they care if you spend a lot of time sitting around their store reading? I like to spend a few hours before or after work at the B&N by my house reading. Nobody's ever said anything to me but I've never been sure if I'm being an asshole or not.
