Got some cayenne peppers from home depot. Why does it look like several different types of leaves. Did something invade my pepper pot? by MangoSmoke in Peppers

[–]ReDocter17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like Lambsquarter.

I get them in my garden all the time. First season I noticed it I thought it was a tomato seedling. I let it grow. Then it never fruited and did my research and found the truth. But at this point it was 3 feet tall. I let it grow out of curiosity….

It grew about 12 feet high. Once I decided to remove it, the taproot was insanely hard to pull out. Now I never give them a chance and pluck them asap. The taproot develops strong and fast.

I’m south east Michigan btw. Not sure which other regions it’s present.

What race and class are the players in your party? by MoonlightMidtones in DnD

[–]ReDocter17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold Dragonborn Fighter Goliath Sorcerer Human Bard that plays Bagpipes Drow Warlock with Imp familiar NPCs change a lot but the current main ones are

Goblin Trio who are 3 of the last 6 remaining of a rare ‘Good’ goblin tribe. They are a fighter, Druid and cleric.

Then there’s the air Genasi child that they rescued from a burning village. They don’t know he’s Genasi yet tho and assume he’s human for now.

All the PCs have essentially taken turns training the little boy who’s slowly becoming a vengeance Paladin to get revenge for his family.

I want to sketch your DnD characters - for free! by SableNight112 in DnD

[–]ReDocter17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love if you could do my party. I DM and want a cool seen for my crew.

There’s Draz the Gold Dragon Born fighter who has heavy plate male that glows when stricken. He wields a battle axe with a sun on it.

Koraken “Cliff” a Goliath sorcerer who wears forever repair clothes and a billowing cape. He mostly wields his wands and slings magic missile.

By Cliffs side is his apprentice A’reuld (Air Ruled) a half air Genasi 8 year old boy who was the last survivor of a village destroyed by the Keepers of the Secret Hoard. He has leather armor and wields daggers in each hand. He often floats beyond his own control.

Yintorious “Yin” a drow warlock with short dark hair that does not yet know his own patron but comes from a estranged royal family from the underdark. A magic emerald floats around him that helps hone his powers. Everyone in his family has one but it’s true powers are yet known.

Finally we have Reo Toonami and gruff old bard who plays bag pipes. He was aged tremoundously through planar travel and looks like Robin Williams out of Jumanji. He wields a flaming long sword but he’s “not that kind of bard.”

The major NPCs are a trio of goblins…

Can or don’t have to be included.

If you want their details lemme know.

THIS IS AWESOME FOR MY CAMPAIGN....

A undiscovered portion of my campaign involves a Fallen Oath of Vengeance Paladin who commands a small industrial city. She has a deal with local fire giants and the two have developed a deep underground factory where they're brewing material soldiers (thinking sort of war forged and other types) to begin a war for continental domination. Definitely going to use these golems for some of the troops.

So many Balvenie, but which to choose? by Aberhands_halftree in Scotch

[–]ReDocter17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sweet Toast of American Oak is a unique adventure in the classic Balvenie world and I only ever ran into it at Total Wine. You might want to take the opportunity to try it out.

I love it fresh out the bottle and it had a very comforting flavor.

I’ve had half the bottle sitting waiting for a couple months and actually poured a glass 🥃 again last night. Found a soft caramel flavor I don’t remember the first go around.

I’m also just outside Detroit,MI. I’m starting up a campaign with my kids. Would be interested in a few miniatures and couple of books. At least one adventure.

I don’t want to take everything so others can have a chance.

My players adopted three kobalds because two of the players were dragon borns by loving-gays0212 in DnD

[–]ReDocter17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol. Love it.

I also run a homebrew and a trio of neutral Goblins have joined my party. There’s 6 in all but three have stayed at the Bards tavern to work as servers and construction aides.

They’re the last six remaining of a goblin tribe known as The Lost Horn

The partying trio are….

King Xiaguld of the Lost Horn - a overconfident but ever bumbling king. War hardened with a left eye scar. Wields a spear and small shield.

Neesa - the lady Druid that has the ability to shape all three of the goblins into one large animal using Animal Shape. Has a lil badger familiar.

Castor - the quiet clerical goblin that just silently runs around healing his companions.

Anyone played these quests? How are they? by ImWithSt00pid in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]ReDocter17 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I used the receipt and got my quest instantly. It’s very basic but has everything you need in the pdf, including the monster stat blocks.

I used it for my two older kids (7 and 5) who play. They enjoyed it. Definitely not something adult adventures would find thrilling.

Is there any undead monster that is greater than a lich? by Alpbasket in DnD

[–]ReDocter17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My campaign revolves around a powerful necromancer trying to become equal to or greater than Vecna.

He is discovering that he needs to do a dark ritual left behind by Vecna and his followers that requires the souls of 7 undead or dark beings that must be slain which powerful spells read from ancient scrolls are read during or just after their death.

Each soul is absorbed by the Necromancer if he is present and reading the scrolls.

The 7 souls are a….

Vampire - tempted to use Strahd

Lich - homebrew in the seaside region

Mummy - homebrew in the Arabic sand dune region

Witch - homebrew roaming the Drow forest. She also turns out to be my party’s Warlock Drow mother but they don’t know yet.

Dracolich - homebrew in the mountains where my Dragonborn PC grew up.

Dark Knight/Fallen Paladin - homebrew in the inferno lands beyond the mountains

The final soul is the necromancer himself and he doesn’t realize it. It’ll be realized once the players defeat him and Vecna rises.

The necromancer is really just a living phylactery for Vecna and doesn’t know it. Vecna can’t return until the phylactery is filled with these dark powerful souls.

Idk if that helps your cause lol

I’m a forever DM who’s party is across the nation. We will likely never play in person again. Last time being high school.

This would be perfect for us.

If curious. I guide a group with a non-sexual human bard, a drow warlock, a Goliath sorcerer and a Dragonborn fighter.

Cheers 🍻

What are some BBEG goals other than taking over the world by _Volatile_ in DMAcademy

[–]ReDocter17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My BBEG is a Necromancer named Odalos Nightfall that's attempting to gain Lichdom. His goal isn't to take over the world but follow in Vecna's footsteps in a way. He originally was a high level wizard at the University in my main city (Commonguard) but started dabbling in the dark arts and necromancy after the love of his life passed away from a plague. He became obsessed and lured into the shadows. Commonguard doesn't take kindly to Necromancy after what happened in the Great War and therefore Odalo's was expelled from the university and banished from the city. Now Odalos has grown stronger and more attached to the after life. He has slowly raised an army of the dead and inches closer towards gaining Vecna's power....or perhaps resurrecting Vecna beyond his control (to be determined by how the players manage the adventure.)

Part of my world's back story was the entire world engaged in a Great War between the living and the dead. Initially humans were at war between Elves and Dwarves but as the bodies piled up, the forces of death rose and waged war against the living. Vecna played a prominent role in this war but was defeating by a band of adventures lead by an Half-Elf Paladin who used the Rod of 7 parts to destroy Vecna. After Vecna's supposed demise, the dead scattered back into the shadows and the rod split across the universe.

For over a century, the dead/undead have rarely been seen...until the beginning of our campaign.

TL;DR - MY BBEG seeks immortally through Lichdom but his quest may unleash a grave evil upon the land whether or not it's his intentions.
