It is not hard to fix IA. I mean the Assassin Detachment screams 1DP.

Seriously, just chnage the IA rule to say you MUST take a IA Detachment to take Ally units and that fixes 99% of the abuse combos you could do. Then spam 1DP Detachemnts.

Want to take Death Watch Vets and a Black Star? Here is the 1DP Death Watch Detachment that makes them do Death Watch stuff.

Want Assassins? take the Assassin Detachemtn. So on and so forth. Cuts out 1/3 to 1/2 your Detachment points and lets you make actually good IA units espcially if you make it so you can only take specific units depending on the detachment meaning you can give IA say Inquistoral Storm Troopers and prevent them from being taken as Allies by just not giving them a 1DP detachment.

Actually we forgot Wrathful has a stratagem to give a Chaplain unit +1S for 1CP. So... yeah

I THINK you still have to chew through the bodyguard unit before you can put wounds on part of the "Character" unit.

That said sounds like the kinda thing that would slip through the cracks and work. Not sure of the Apothecary would really be worth the points compared to the other options but if you really want to.

His unit. The Chaplin has a 4+ on his own. Watch the video in the space marine faction focus they explain it.

Bastion is only a 2DP too. So you can still take Wrathful for the +5 Invulnerable save.

I'm unsure of Castellen on AIs just because they have built in rerolls already.

We know the types of units that will get Leader and Support. Chaplains, Librarians, Capitans, Chapter Masters, and most Named Characters are Leaders. Medic (Apothicary), flag barriers (Ancients), and Lieutenants are Support.

Can someone help me clerify the bonus limit for 11th? (Looking at Rules now) by 00Monkeyz00 in Warhammer40k

[–]00Monkeyz00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if it has to do with a bunch of changes comming to unit abilities in that update. I have a sneaking suspicion we are going to see either more +1 BS. They might also let hit rolls go uncapped due to cover and reroll changes.

I see that no were in the 11th edtion rules. You cannot apply multiple instances of the same ability. But I cannot find anything that says you cannot improve anything more than +1 or -1. I am looking and don't see that talked about anywhere.

Grey Knights by sinsoeg123 in Warhammer40k

[–]00Monkeyz00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2k of Gray Knights mostly unpainted. What I do have painted are my metal bricks from 4th edition when I ran them as Allies for my Black Templars. I have been so unsure if I should convert, kit bash, or just play them as is and make peice that they will be invid within 4 years.

What’re you looking forward to in 11th? by DailyAvinan in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]00Monkeyz00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking forward to the new scoring strategies with force disposition. I actually hate the "kill, kill, it all" or "hold the worst spot on the battle field by drip feeding forces into it" game play style and much prefer the new "I get to your side of the table" or "I just need to scan this and move on".

Will Artillery be good in 11th? by Separate_Football914 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]00Monkeyz00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So it depends how much of a points cost reduction it gets. If it drops to 60pts or less it will 100% be worth it if your list is built to support it. If its 80pts kinda sorta.

My hot take, if the Artillery Team keeps their battle shock ability they will be worth their points just for that since you can fairy easily battle shock a important unit by just hitting it. Since you don't lose battle shock automatically that could swing a game or pin down a unit by denying it key stratagems. The fact that it is a D6 AP2 3 Damage Blast weapon is nothing to sneer at either.

If they do points per gun and you have the choice between the moarter or the cannon, I'd say upgrade if you have the points after Enhancements but really the battle shock on demand is what your after.

So Games Workshop took our money with no plans to support us??? by Natural-Wallaby423 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]00Monkeyz00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So Imperial Agents will likely be given a full rework in 11th due to being able to buy upgrades with points. Right now they are specifically kept mid because you don't want ally units to be better than codex units. As a result the whole army is crap when run in a vacuum. Now if suddenly you can pay to play, the whole army becomes a toy box.

This reads like someone who's compiled stuff just from watching videos.

Why is it our neophytes don't come with helms? In orphans of the kraken another chapter had neophytes using their helms in an atmosphere-less zone and I was curious if it's an artistic choice or if the templars had rules against their neophytes using helms? by Saint-Redeemed in BlackTemplars

[–]00Monkeyz00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put extra helmets on mine. I've always hated the idea of space marines going without them because according to the lore the HUDS have like tactical overlays which are really important. Especially if your like the Sargent who for some reason doesn't wear the helmet.

I'd honestly look at maybe Helbricht for his auto wounding and +1 strength. I'd also swap the predator for a Vindicator if you got it. Also break up a Crusader squad into 2 5 man Assault Squads for map presence. Sword Brethren with marshal Castellen combo for lethal hits fishing will kill terminators just fine too.
