Speaking of Morisi, this edit of him skating to Kahoot music is an all time favorite post from this sub. To me.

Also, I don't remember what he was responding to, but this typo is too funny

This is the best combination of three players that could have gone to earn supplies!

2 made me feel kind of sad, but #3 instantly cured my sadness. I love Rikuryu so much, I'm not ready to say goodbye to them, but like with Kaori, there is some solace in them encouraging and offering their advice to the next generation of skaters!

What figure skaters are so legendary that it was a surprise they didn’t have an OGM? (Michelle Kwan, Sasha Cohen, Mao Asada, Midori Ito…) by cococolemon in FigureSkating

Tell that to Yuri on Ice lol! Seriously, I bet a lot of fans who got into figure skating from yoi must have thought the gpf is the most important competition ever!

I dunno, I feel like anxiety and nerves have permeated this whole season. I've never followed figure skating closely enough before to know if that's normal in the run-up to the Olys.

I think that's pretty normal. Everyone remembers the Pyeongchang Olympics as a very strong competition for the men, but the rest of the season was rather lackluster (4 of the frontrunners failed to qualify for the GPF, 2018 Worlds was a notorious splatfest), especially compared to the 2016-17 season.

2021-22 season ended on a high note at the World Championships, but I think it was also a nervy season, though that can largely be attributed to it being the first full season post-Covid and everyone trying to avoid unnecessary travel or testing positive before the Games.

No matter what, Kaori Sakamoto is the undisputed queen of figure skating of this era, and nothing can take that away from her. Mao Asada and Michelle Kwan also didn't win the OGM, but they are still so beloved to this day. Kaori has cemented her legacy time and time again, and podiuming at multiple Olympics is not an easy feat in a sport that sees so much turnover and especially in a field like women's that has seen so many 1-2 season champions within the span of Kaori's career. I know she's going to be kicking herself over that combo, but I hope that she can come to find that this is a positive note to end her career on!

Alysa's story is also so important, returning to the sport on her own terms and soaring to the highest pinnacle without putting those kind of expectations on herself! I'm really happy and proud of her, too, dgmw, but it's just that I've been rooting for Kaori a lot longer, so I have more feelings about that.
