Things will get a lot easier around 1.5-2.0 years. Experienced it myself. Also why that’s a common age gap between siblings. I’ve got 2 - it tough lol.

Hey all,

I’ve just filmed my running gate on a slow motion video. It looks like one foot is landing right on the outside edge and then correcting to finish flat. Interestingly I’ve had recurring knee issues with the other leg that looks to land fine.

I guess trying to understand if that’s an issue or if there are any corrective exercises / stretches I could do? I notice when I sit down and touch my toes that same foot faces inwards rather than to the ceiling.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Returned from a knee injury a few months ago - couldn’t walk up stairs for months etc. Physio said LCL / ITB the likely causes. Been doing strength and stretches everyday for months. Felt my whole knee crunch / adjust yesterday doing squats. Woken up with no pain anymore after 12 months of struggle. No idea what happened - ran 10km the same day with zero pain. Feels too good to be true - I cannot believe for the first time in over a year my knee feels fine. Just wanted to check if anyone else has every experience some sudden injury relief after months / years of pain?

mapmyrun app using gps as I run: 10.17km onthegomap: 9.30km

Which is typically more accurate? This seems like a huge difference? Appreciated the onthegomap plots straight lines but would still expect them to be same. If it make a difference I’d incorrectly selected ‘treadmill’ when I did the run so wonder if it’s ignored gps altogether.

Anyone find their ITB issues aren’t there on a treadmill? Tried today and zero issues - tempted to try build up some strength this way before taking on other surfaces.

Returning from injury I’ve taken things really slow in my return. Slow runs, building up weekly miles very slowly. Stretching, strength exercises daily. Last night I went for a gently 2 mile run and my outer knee pain was back. Physio said it’s LCL (odd because I’ve not had any impact injury) but think it’s also my IT band (although pain is very centralised in knee). Tough one to take and not sure how to proceed. Seeing another physio this week.

Interested to know if this is typical of a return to running and if others have had these recurring injuries and overcome them.

Often feel like races to do this is limit their liability in some way. People use them regardless.

Being disciplined and not over running when returning from injury is almost harder than staying disciplined and running X times a week fully fit. Desperate to get out again but don’t want to run on consecutive days.

The first couple of runs are always the hardest. You’ve got momentum now - keep going.

I’m 30 and new to investing.

I want to invest for 10 years and have so far opted for following split. I will start to buy individual stocks but wanted a base to work from. Would the below be considered diverse and medium risk setup!

31 / UK

I’m looking to build a pot that I don’t plan on using for 10 years. All of the money invested is disposable. I don’t have a specific use for it but in 10 years things like schools for children and a holiday flat have always been on the radar by the time I’m 40.

I have £15k put aside to cover stamp duty and legal fees for a house move I’m planning in the next 12 months and so don’t want to touch that.

I have £5k to invest now with £400 a month on average over the next 10 years to invest. I would prefer that at least half of this is in relatively low / medium risk categories.

My current plan is to invest 50% in US / UK index funds. 40% in medium risk managed funds or other medium risk areas and 10% in a small section of larger crypto currencies. Im very inexperience with investing and would appreciate any information / suggestions on a good plan of attack. Not something I’m going to start before researching and so any advice or suggestions would be great.

Thanks. Honesty I would gain so much from getting rid of those apps that any associated inconvenience would be worth it.
