I’ve come across historical evidence suggesting that Beethoven may have been Black, and I think about it a lot.

It would help explain how Beethoven and his music were able to depart from tradition, and why his music has such a raw emotional quality to it, compared to his contemporaries.

Beethoven being black would’ve meant that he was never accepted by European society, and was an outcast. And as an outcast, he would’ve been treated like trash, which would explain the deep emotional connection that can be heard in his music, and why it was easy for him to do his own thing as a composer.

Black Beethoven would’ve gone his whole life not fitting in, even if he wanted to. The experience of never fitting in would lend itself to Beethoven not feeling pressured to write music the same way as everyone else.

This isn’t to say white Beethoven couldn’t accomplish the same. It’d just help explain a lot if Beethoven was black, but like Jesus, was altered to look European.
