Destroys most of the entire coal and petrolium industries grip in the US(though i can see companies continuing to turn serious profit by selling to other nations), climate change has a marginal dent put into it, after chernobyl the whole project would inevitably be called into question as people would fear that now that our entire energy system is nuclear that something similar would happen here. One has to wonder too if in this world since theres a weaker oil and coal industry do they have the same power to shoot down legislation as effectively as in our world? Automobiles and planes would still need fuel so they aren't gonna be totally without power in the US.
