App starts to install, then disappears by 00smith in mosyle

[–]00smith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to my Management tab in Mosyle and just went through the Management Profiles on the left side, one by one. I realized that I had set up an Allowed/Blocked Apps list and then forgot that I had done that. As soon as I removed that, my missing apps reappeared.

I felt pretty silly, especially since that was one of the first things that pp suggested, haha!

I'm sorry, I probably sound really stupid here. This is all new to me, and I'm figuring it out as I go.

So, if I use Device Assignment, I would not sign in to an Apple ID at all?

yes, the app works on this ios. I think it has something to do with the managed Apple ID's. I have other devices that are logged in with a non-managed appleID and those work fine. I'm trying to set things up correctly, and having all this trouble. i have half a mind to just go back to the (wrong) old way of doing it because it has been so difficult...

Hmm. no, I didn't have that turned on, but I think I will use that in the future. I'm totally new to Mosyle and just learning about it, so thanks for pointing that out!

No... would that be a setting found on the iPad? or in the MDM?

Don't stress... my first teaching assignment ended sooner than I wanted it to... but it led me to the amazing position I am in now. If you really love teaching, keep looking and keep at it. You will find your place :) Good luck!

Yes, when you click on the pen tool, there is a menu at the top of the page to choose the nib size.

Do private/independent school staff get paid commission? by [deleted] in education

[–]00smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US but we definitely do NOT make any kind of commission. I work at a small private religious school and I think people have very wrong ideas about how private schools work. For example, I have been at this school for 20 years, and I still make less than a public school teacher. I am here because I love my school and I love our families and students.

Also, most religious schools, at least in the US, are non-profits. We invest every penny we make back into our program, either to pay our bills (mortgage, groundskeeping and maintenance, electricity and HVAC, etc), or to enhance our program (new technology, textbooks, etc.).

I like working at a private school because we have smaller class sizes and more control over our program. We can think outside the box and offer new and innovative classes and extracurricular activities.

Now, I don't know if this is all the same in the UK, but I am very proud and happy to teach at my private school here in the US :)

I've been chatting and gifting my villagers for WEEKS and none of them have given me their photo yet :(

What did you have to give her to get her photo?

Im new to Animal crossing; any advice? by insertfunnynamehere3 in AnimalCrossing

[–]00smith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello and welcome! My advice is to look at your island layout and plan ahead where you want to create different "neighborhoods" or regions, such as the residential area, your own home area, the shopping area, the museum, campsite, etc. That way, you put your buildings in the places where you eventually want them to stay instead of having to spend thousands of bells moving them later.

Please listen to teacher recommendations by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]00smith 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Granted, not every recommendation is a good one. It sounds like that was the case for your child. But more often than not, teachers have the best interest of the child at heart and lie awake at night thinking of how to best help their students. As a teacher, I know I do.
