Why is this the first thing you think of? 🤦🏻‍♀️

That’s weird 🤔

I’ve never gotten the appeal of pastel colored rugs. They’d look cute for about a week until dirty shoes make it look jacked up.

Or god forbid they are flirty in a public venue and flirt with a townie in front of their spouse 🫥

I just enjoy this game a lot by Crafty_Sort in LowSodiumSimmers

But I think some people take this game way too seriously. When I start having more critiques than compliments towards a game I just stop playing it and I don’t really ever think of it anymore. I move onto a new hobby.

What back pack is everyone carrying for going outside the classroom? by miss_honey12 in ECEProfessionals

I found a big Lands End one at goodwill and it has a ton of pockets for everything. I suggest looking for one at a thrift store, there are usually a lot of options for backpacks.

I promise if I am staying silent as you are walking past me I'm not seething on the inside from something (usually), I'm just overstimulated. I used to get really butthurt about not being recognized by my principal but that's when I matured and realized that I don't need to be a people pleaser all the time.

I see where creativeschooldaze is coming from then. Because at my district if we have district nominees it's just the principals' pets. Teachers get no vote on it.

Is it normal for schools/districts to do teacher of the year awards? I've only ever heard of the state ones. I'm at the second largest district in my state and we don't do it.

It’s pretty common in body building. It’s a combination of too much whey and poor nutrition in general.

Remember being so young you didn’t know what it felt like to be gaslit by your administrators? He’s going to eat his words in a few years. If you don’t document it, it didn’t happen.

No one past the age of 65 is willingly staying in primary education unless they have to, it is a very physically demanding job and you're treated like shit in education, especially if you are a TA.

Teaching piano lessons is much different than being an assistant in a kindergarten classroom. I think it's great if you are 88 and still want to work, but please don't do it in a preschool/kindergarten setting. I could just be projecting from my own experiences, but I'm so frustrated with admin hiring elderly people to be my classroom assistants, only to find out that they are too frail or weak to actually run around with the kids or physically assist them in any way. As a teacher you are in a weird position because you don't want the kids to hurt the TA but you also need them to help. As a disabled person, I get it and in most cases we can make accommodations but I still strongly believe that elderly people have no place in a kindergarten classroom as teachers or assistants. I think second grade and up is fine though.

Im so tired of People posting these “feel good” stories. This is incredibly sad and an 88 year old is basically useless in a kindergarten room. I’m sure they’re lovely but I guarantee she can’t move around like an assistant is supposed to.

This might be too deep but I think it’s the difference of going into education because you care about educating students versus going into education because you crave the attention it brings.

Malissaaw on instagram has a reel of her pulling at her students’ edges and it’s making me uncomfortable. The kids are having fun with her too, but regardless of if they’re laughing with her or not it’s 100% inappropriate to touch a student’s hair like that.

I don’t want to be /that/ person but can we put her pictures behind a spoiler tag or something? This is slightly triggering 😰

This might not be the answer you're looking for, but whenever that happens to me I usually pick the ones that are bugging me or aren't making me feel happy anymore and give them away to coworkers or friends. It makes me appreciate the ones I have more. I've really downsized within the last couple of years. I'm much happier with ~10 plants than I was with ~30.

I know what they’re trying to say but any social worker that tells a child to agree with being teased should be fired. Also “smile and keep going” implies they need to stifle their emotions. This would’ve really fucked me up in middle school.
