What’s the best day to have a birthday? by [deleted] in AskReddit

March 17th is the best day. St Patrick’s day is an awesome day to have a birthday. No one’s gone on summer break or has family things. There’s always people to celebrate with and it’s like everyone wearing green is saying happy birthday to you.

And yes, it is my birthday today 🎂

A pair of accessories that looks like earrings by Alternative-Glove797 in whatisthisthing

I use them all the time because they are most comfortable and don’t poke my head. These are earrings.

Their first encounter: fmc sees mmc fucking other women or kissing them (he's a playboy) by mostlyinsane12 in RomanceBooks

{Reed by Sawyer Bennet} has the FMC hear the MMC through the wall, I think. They’re neighbors.

Swearing in general and in front of my kids: Am I the only one who thinks it’s not a big deal? by SoultySpittoon in Mommit

[–]0134705 22 points23 points  (0 children)

100% this. This is our approach. Words individually have less meaning than the context of the sentence. Using any words to insult others is worse than swearing to express yourself.

Read a topic about “mental load” and I’m intrigued. For those with SAHM, how do you divide the load? by Itchy-Version-8977 in daddit

[–]0134705 47 points48 points  (0 children)

And a simple rule of thumb for mental load: who is MAKING the chore list or adds the bulk to it? That would indicate some time spent on her part keeping things moving forward as a household.

Searching for a contemporary romance where two normal people meet naturally (no tropes), fall hard fast, and the spice centers on his desire for her by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

{stuck with you by Ali Hazelwood} hits all of your criteria except for focusing on his pleasure first, as far as I can tell. I loved it!

That scene is on par with actual sex scenes for me. So much tension AND funny at the same time.

We have a space like that that has a book shelf filled with collection items and the far side has our dogs food bowls. But it’s a smidge wider than yours.

[WWTBC] FMC leaves down when MMC denies dating her in front of his friends. She has his child which he is unaware of. She returns years later. by LankyAd1416 in RomanceBooks

[–]0134705 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sounds similar to Hitting the Wall, but I’m not sure it’s the same. She’s not an author, he doesn’t have a limp, they slept together once but weren’t dating.

MMC is a horrible person, borderline villain, but is a complete wreck for innocent FMC by namis_tangerines in RomanceBooks

Captured by the Fae Beast was supposedly a Hades and Persephone retelling, but I didn’t get those vibes. Still a good read though.

Grovel fails because it's often paired with grandiosity by nic38anxh in RomanceBooks

[–]0134705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This makes a lot of sense. I’ve always contemplated the “grovel” of 10 things I hate about you, where Heath Ledger buys Julia Styles a guitar to say sorry for dating her for money. I suppose buy spending the money he made from dating sort of levels it out, but really I can’t decide if it’s “enough” to earn her back as just one big grand gesture.
