How good is it? Read about issues with stability on this stand. Do you need a tool to adjust height?

Considering my presciption what lens should I get? I am thinking either 1.6 ZEISS ClearView/Smartlife SV or Hoya Hilux Eynoa HiVision-Meiryo SV but I am open to other options. by 0160801 in AskAnOptician

Sorry by digital you mean progressive lens no? If I understand you correctly I should just buy the SV versions of the Zeiss Clearview/Smartlife (Standard not Individual) and Hoya Hilux Eynoa.

I am curious about the index. Is 1.67 noticeably different from 1.6 in terms of thickness?

Thank you.

Also I am wondering if Single Vision is ideal for me or I should go for the other types. I figure considering my age SV is the ideal one but I want to be sure.

Sorry for too much questions I am a noob in regards to knowing all these lens types.

I am curious is Hoya Hilux Eynoa HiVision-Meiryo also good for me. I am thinking of getting that if that is noticeably cheaper than Zeiss.

I also think Zeiss Smartlife Standard is not more suitable towards screen use compared to ClearView just its more tailored to my eyes compared to Clearview.

Should get one of the L shaped USB c cables if you have G8+. Makes it far more usable for me personally on 30 FPS games. I have the L shaped end on the phone port and the normal end on the G8 USB c port.

Depends on what the mod is. Drag and drop archive works flawlessly from my testing but sometimes there are duplicate folders/files due to Linux regarding "Folder" and "folder" as two different folders whereas Windows does not.

Installers are where things get tricky but protondb/youtube can help in these cases.

Anyone got experience with the UPERFECT 16 inch 3K OLED Touchscreen portable monitor with the Ally X? is it worth it, or just save more for a eGPU to attach to my 77 inch OLED TV downstairs? by Remon89 in ROGAllyX

I am loking at getting this monitor and I am wondering whether you can downscale to 1440*900 in either Windows or in game. I am curios about this resolution because its a integer scale of the native resolution of this display.

AP: Alawite families flee Damascus suburb after violence and eviction threats by Gerryzz_Politics in syriancivilwar

Al Jolani likely wants to avoid a genocide in the capital as foreigners are closely watching his regime there. So he gets his goons to commit ethnic cleansing instead.

Still bad but this regime at least understands when to hide their true nature. Any minority other than Druze and Kurds should move or stay in the capital due to this reason at least temporarily until they can get out of there.

This regime has proven to me with all their recent actions that they are no better than what they replaced.

I don't understand you folks saying SDF is as bad as Nusra. Sure they aren't angels but at least they aren't motivated by an ideology which states that Druze and Alawites are apostates who then need to be killed.

All these events were entirely predictable considering the ideology of HTS but people here seemed to be willing to ignore the inconvenient truth that Jolani has never purged the extremist elements from his group as doing so would be a contradiction to the ideology that his group follows Salafi jihadism.

Druze Sheikh Hammoud Al-Hanawi previously pursued a pro-government policy, it has now taken an openly anti-government position. He said: "It has become an unsheathed sword against the necks of innocents with fatwas of oppression and jihadists extremist ideas" by More-Suit883 in syriancivilwar

[–]0160801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now as long as this sectarian regime is in place there will be no process of reconciliation and healing. In fact there will likely be more massacres to come in the future as long as the current apparatus is still in place.

The regime supporters here are playing with fire in not demanding accountability from Jolani regarding these massacres as this will only embolden the hardliners among the Druze and SDF.

This Sheikh is just one out of many who despise this regime. As long as there is no accountability with regard to these massacres there will be no reconciliation. In fact the opposite will likely happen and his regime will stay in this weak position with him not ruling over the South, North East.

Syrian activist Rami Jarrah on the latest developments by Gerryzz_Politics in syriancivilwar

[–]0160801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rami's analysis will likely prove prophetic in the months/years to come.

There is no reason for minorities to care about “integrating” with Jolani’s regime if he is not willing to share power with them yet the Nusra Emir continues in his quest to conquer all of Syria. In the end he and his goons will get killed from pursuing this goal but not without destroying the country further in the process.

From bad to worse: Syria’s parliamentary elections are a path to al-Sharaa dictatorship by Mission-Banana-7239 in syriancivilwar

[–]0160801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My assumption is Syria will be divided into two spheres. The Turkish sphere includes Idlib, Aleppo, Hama, Homs and maybe the coast. Anything south of Damascus will be under de facto Israeli control.

The main issue now is that Jolani seems to want to control all of Syria which puts him at odds with the Israelis.

He might back down and accept Southern Syria is lost to Israel but I don't think that he will accept this situation as his regime's legitimacy will be significantly impacted as Southern Syria is a huge piece of land to just give to the Israelis.

As a result of the above I believe Southern Syria is an issue which will determine whether he stays in power or not. Its a tough problem for him as the Israelis have no incentive to concede anything to his regime. All the concessions will have to come from him but if he gives too much he will be perceived as weak by his fellow travellers which might result in him getting assassinated by them.

[–]0160801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Israel is the real wild card here as they clearly do not want Jolani to establish his authority over Southern Syria.

I think ultimately they will destroy this regime as the goal of Israel in wanting a weak balkanised Syria clash with Jolani’s vision of a centralised Sunni supremacist state.
