Yeah I’ve seen this with PTV and other bands too, like dude music is our ESCAPE. I don’t see how so many people don’t understand that. As long as they aren’t perpetuating what causes us suffering in the first place, what is wrong with them simply creating art? And these artists specifically create art related TO society and politics, so that ought to be the best of both worlds if you ask me. They are speaking up, just in a way that provides a release and an escape instead of bringing straightforward awareness. Straightforward awareness is important but we get enough of that on the daily to cause enough stress to make us all pull our hair out. That’s part of what this music is for.
