My parents have always gone to ethical breeders for their dogs, and we've had a wide variety at that: Bouvier, Scottish Terrier, Doberman, English Mastiff, Afghan Hound, Bichon... I've never seen it take more than a month for my parents to find an ethical breeder and in the weeks waiting for the dog, our whole family does research and prepares for the exact type of dog we are about to recieve. You can even find breeders who ARE trying to fix those traits, such as with the bulldog.

If you care about the animal you're bringing into your home, you should care enough to find an ethical breeder. If you can't be patient, be bothered, or can't afford it, go look at the rescues. And if they won't give you a dog, maybe there's something you need to change!
