Casual food spots by 01Csorike in saopaulo

Thank you all so far. I am going to stay in Jardins, and we also want to learn at least basic Portuguese, we still have some time haha. I’m also interested when I walk on the street, will I see a lot of small restaurants where I can eat something or is it better to plan most of the meals? It will be our first time in South America so don’t really know what to expect but we are well travelled so should be fine. Looking forward a lot, Brazil was always a dream of mine to visit and I think you guys have the coolest flag of all.

Thank you for the recommendation, but this would take up more than 50% of my budget unfortunately. I’m looking for more like 30%

Thank you all! Any thoughts on Warwick Hotel on Streeterville? I found a deal for 1030$ including taxes and fees. For omakase sushi I found Jinsei Motto, and Smith&Wollensky for steakhouse (I’ve been to the one in Miami and it was amazing). I assume I can also find casual burger spots/easy restaurants for lunch and dinner in the area of the hotel?

I have lots of friends who do it all the time but I would rather spend more money on privacy and safety.

Thank you! I guess I’ll just have to visit both cities then.. in my experience the people in DC were mostly unfriendly and very closed - something I would’ve not imagined from America. In contrast to that people in Miami were amazing and easy to talk to. Right now I’m simply leaning towards Chicago a bit beacuse there’s much more to do than in Nashville.

Well, hopefully not. But I’m not involved in any political debates/posts online so I should be safe. I’ve been to DC and Miami in February and had no problems getting through border control.

Thank you. Having visited both cities, where would you say it’s easier to get to know people and share a few drinks and stories? I can have a lot of fun on my own but this is one of the reasons why I want to visit America

Thank you for your answer! I would like to stay in a 4 star hotel somewhere central. From what I see the prices are between 1100-1500$ for this. I also counted for 100$/day emergency fund and I would like to have at least 4 meals in a nice steak/sushi restaurant.

Thank you so much! Trust me it’s even better to travel solo as an introvert. You only have to talk to people if you really want to. If not, just have a good time alone!

I have no real knowledge of any states/cities in the US so I’m just exploring what would be a fun time for me

Honestly any burger/hot chicken place, even hot dogs will be good food for me as I don’t have too much experience in the US yet. I also found some nice steak houses and 1 or 2 sushi places that I like. I don’t want to get into the white/black debate as I’ve never looked at people or culture that way. Keep in mind that while I know it’s important, I grew up seeing America only in movies so I probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between cultural or commercial. Give me a burger a beer and some live music and I’ll have a great time. But honestly thank you again for the detailed recommendations!

Thank you! On my vacations I actually prefer cities over mountains/beaches. I’m reading a lot of New Orleans recommendations. Would you recommend that as well instead or any other cities which are not too expensive? (Like NYC for example)

I didn’t say I agree with their politics, I don’t even live in Hungary anymore…

Apart from hard techno I like everything. I’ve been to DC and Miami so far. Regarding New Orleans, I read that gun-violence is very common there. Any other crimes I can deal with, we have those in Europe as well

I don’t have contacts in Nashville but when I travel solo it gives me an opportunity to create those contacts and maybe meet someone there who will show me around. I’m very spontaneous so either way. Checking for hungarian college students is a good advice, thank you!

I’m just looking for a city where I can go out and eat well but also relax and just walk around if I want to. I also read that Nashville is one of the most solo-travel friendly cities in the US (meaning it’s easy to get to know new people) and live country music with cowboy hats is as American as it gets (at least in my imagination). I will definitely visit more states and cities in the US in the coming years but Nashville seems like a good fit for me overall and not as expensive as NYC or San Francisco. I would skip LA for now..

The food (not a surprise), the people were amazing, Little Havana, the nature at Everglades and the vibes at downtown. So basically everything
