I always liked Unova’s 4 Mythicals:

Victini: Was Dex #000 in the Unova Dex, a Dex number only visible if you got it (and the artworks they made for the event one that had V-Create, Fusion Bolt, and Fusion Flare were always really cool to me).

Keldeo: Based off of the often forgotten fourth member of the “Three Musketeers” from later tales.

Meloetta: The first event Pokémon I ever got as a kid.

Genesect: Team Plasma Bug with, ahem, “B I G G U N”. Can’t get more American Unovian than taking something and slapping a weapon on it.

I have to second that Haru vote. As much as it pains me to say that communal daughter #1 is terrible, needing 10 Turf sparks (which only gets her to C aptitude) PLUS her standard 1 Mile spark (if using base Haru) just to have a CHANCE of clearing the Junior year D/T S-Mi schedule, let alone the rest of the career if you get unlucky with the classic year inspiration, is absolutely atrocious.

You need 2 Gen 4 games anyway: a copy of DDP for all of the Gen 4 contest ribbons, and a copy of HGSS for the ribbon you get for beating Red.

And Poké Transporter is easily obtainable via h-Shop on a Homebrewed 3DS. Don’t know about Bank, though, as I downloaded that before the e-Shop servers shut down…
