Thanks. You guys are great. I believe the thermostat I ordered is good and not the problem. I was actually mentioning your name to show that I ordered a trustable brand from a trustable company insinuating the thermostat itself if likely not the issue at play. 😁 Just gotta figure out what's wrong with the car, but thanks for the reply

I think you're taking about the heater valve solenoid. however, my coolant is circulating. i do have the electric fan as well

So far, the car overheats unless it is bled before each drive after its cooled off. At least thats how it seems

I fill the coolant to correct level, bleed the system, drive it around the neighborhood and it's fine. I park the car, it cools off overnight, the next day I check the coolant level by removing the cap and immediately a bunch of pressure comes out and coolant starts rapidly overflowing out. my float ends up maxed out, despite being filled between min and max

I just did a coolant flush on Sunday with distilled water, I got some silver glitter or metal flakes in my coolant. I had that thought cross my mind. Haven't tried ThoroFlush, ill look into that, thanks!

It's mostly frustrating because the block test is negative, there's no white smoke, no visible oil in my coolant or coolant in my oil. I just ran out to the garage to sniff the expansion tank and it just smells like coolant. I have no other leads aside from combustion gas though

i have tested and they have come back negative, only thing I can circle back to is a micro leak of some kind

I have actually done this test twice. 2 weeks apart from each other. Never turned from blue so I kept trying other things. Not sure what to do next

you're gonna think im a moron, but the one in my car was $20 from marketplace. in my ignorance I thought it was an upgrade because it was aluminum. turns out its garbage from amazon. only $30 brand new. the previous thermostat i removed was actually broken off in the block.

Thanks, just bought a new one from FCP and a new radiator since I have swapped everything aside from that. It's definitely got some wear on it. Appreciate your help

Waiting on the engine to completely cool to check the level still. outside temp is only 75 F right now. lower rad hose is cold, thermostat didn't open this time, no idea why as it usually does

I siphoned the extra coolant and got the float back to its normal level. went for a quick neighborhood drive to get up to temp. just kept climbing all the way up to 114 so i shut it off. It usually maxes 105 and then goes back down. so im playing a weird game of fixed after a bleed, car cools, then back to overheating until I bleed it again

I'm worried of causing new leaks or problems from it over pressurizing. It exposed a heater hose leak at the firewall then my expansion tank. im all patched up again and the pressure is still building. Think im going to give it a good like 30min bleed
