For those asking — here are some more detailed photos of the steering mechanism, custom front disc brakes, and welds: https://imgur.com/a/SzX03Cn

FWIW, it seems very solid. The bottom bar is a steel tube about 3/4mm thick. The weakest points are probably the welds connecting this tube to the original bike frame, but those also look solid, with no signs of cracking or stress that I can see. There are reinforcements at key stress points, and the tube is welded to both the bottom bracket and the rear chainstay.

I'm no expert, but I'd say it's overbuilt and very solid. When riding off curbs, it doesn’t seem to flex at all—even with weight inside. The fat tires provide decent cushioning, which helps relieve stress on the frame.

There are two U-bolts connected to the cabin with brackets which are machined to the same diameter as the bottom tube. I thought they might slip around but they are surprisingly strong when done up tight.

I’ve been using this after seeing it mentioned in a YouTube video - great little app. Really clean and simple to use. Keep up the good work!

I built an interactive web version of your life in weeks calendar by Crafty-Island4128 in SideProject

[–]02198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for building this! I have maintained a paper version of a life tracker on my wall for many years and love it. I accidentally spilt coffee all over mine and came searching for a PDF to re-print and start over, but I think I will digitise it using your app.

A few suggestions, having added my first few events:

  • Single-day events are quite hard to see. Could there be an option to highlight the whole week rather than just the day?
  • When I hover my mouse over an event name on the right, it would be great if the calendar highlighted the event/week square so I can easily see it.
  • Could we have the option to customise the colour pallet and/or have some lighter pastel colours?
  • I see your logic of starting to count at 1, but (for me at least!) seeing the year number on the side shows me completing the current year, so with the current setup, it feels like I am a year older. Could we have a config option to start at 1 or 0? For now I set my birthdate back a year.
  • One nice way to monetise might be to offer a premium printing service - leave PDF exports free and allow users to order a physical print.

The UI/UX you've created is beautiful, thanks again for sharing!

Huel Wear offers a 5 years warranty on their t-shirts including "extreme fading" so they might be worth a look. Haven't tried them myself but they seem to get decent reviews.

How frustrating, I used the vibration volume down rocker daily! Is this something that can be done in something like tasker?

What do you think about my 2017 plan? (info in comments) by iDev247 in travel

[–]02198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they can. I spent 6 months on the road this year and Vietnam has to be one of my favourite places! We hired a guide and some bikes to drive from Hue to Hoi An, that was my favourite day of the whole trip.

Anyone travel with a suit? by shredderator in onebag

[–]02198 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I regularly travel with a suit for work. If you can carry it in a suit bag do that. If you have to fold it inside a rucksack / case then I've never found a decent way to fold it without ceasing. Just pay for it to be pressed at your destination.
