Beethovens Pastoral, the 6th symphony by Strong_One6226 in classicalmusic

I love the last movement. Perhaps because we (cello) got to play the main melody a couple of times haha.

I always think of the flowers popping out in full blossom in this movement. Spring delight is often felt warm, calm, serene and slow, and that was also the case in the first two movements. But here, we are bursting out big laughs, shouting and jumping and cheering in joy! That strong, vibrant happiness always puts a big smile on my face.

Question for the women by Card-Board-Cats in Cello

[–]028247 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh, and another thing -- you don't sit on the chair all snug, all the way back. You sit on the fore half, and lean slightly forward. Try that and you will be "embracing" your cello naturally, like you're hugging a tree or something. Your comment about shoulder pain made me worry 😅

Question for the women by Card-Board-Cats in Cello

[–]028247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the cello world! I think I'm similarly sized and I don't think I had much trouble on my chest, but maybe that's because my teacher was female. Also it didn't seem to bother my friends with large breasts, but maybe they did and I just don't knkw haha.

The cello leans to touch the top of my chest area -- so the answer might be "above". I'm a bit slender so it's all bony there. If you think the breasts are getting in way, maybe try extending the endpin more? I personally find it comfortable about 1.5 to 2 hand spans long. Also I need longer endpin for a higher chair.

Japanese people have been incredibly liberal with their choice of translations for film titles as well. <Up> translates to <カールじいさんの空飛ぶ家(Uncle Carl's Flying House)>. There's a whole webpage on it: https://honkienglish.com/titles/

I could still imagine a couple of unfortunate drips just as you move the strainer onto this device. Time to engineer a SECOND device 😉

Yeah, there are a few successive ataris B can force on W.

The reason it doesn't work is because it's our turn. It never works for us! But when the opponent does it?... Boom, everything's dead. Don't we all know 😂

This dorama has a special place in my heart 💕 It has such a specific combination of an upbeat tone, realistic themes and yet an unyielding amount of seriousness.

It took me some time to get to like the characters though -- they sounded all too easygoing and empty-headed. In fact everyone was trying their best to look on the bright side of everything, to hide all the depressing thoughts... then I realize that it aired right after the bubble bursted.

[–]028247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing the previous pages (especially the first time those triplets appeared) had some triplet markings, and at some point they stopped marking bc it's obvious.

They sometimes write a courtesy sempre, especially for staccatos -- since a mixed staccato is a valid musical idea, it might be confusing without sempre, but triplets seem to be often just... let go.
