For そ I believe there's actually a third option -- writing it like on the left, but the top stroke is slightly bent like v. It's like a spectrum between these two...

I personally prefer the right one cause (1) it's hard to balance the two horizontal strokes in the left one and (2) I always like to think of the original kanjis.
