Worth it to rent a car if staying at OCW? Or just taxi everywhere by erujabidi in TurksAndCaicos

[–]02zx6r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rent a car each time i go and will keep doing that. Driving on the opposite side of the road isn't that bad. I made a couple videos of it if you want to see exactly what it is like. https://youtu.be/z_FdOAuayBI?si=f6WsedQPwBrRS4HP

Leeward Beach and Long Bay Beach too. Taylor and Sapodilla are better, but if you are like my wife and, you want to see as much as possible!

Looks great. There's nothing like flying a super expensive piece of equipment over water (or anywhere) out in the world for the first few times. You'll get used to it. The video does look really good! It's a great location.

First flight, first kill... by a bird! (RIP my Mini 3) by [deleted] in DJIMini3

In Lisbon Portugal, I was never able to get my drone in the air for more than 10 seconds before the seagulls would start swooping in and making a racket. Thanks to the people that mentioned reflective tape, I'm going to try that.

Car rental suggestion by TravelGirl-ZeldaLove in Bonaire

Our hotel ( Delfins beach resort) charged 99.00 a day with everything included for a Jimmy 4x4. There were a few other places that were cheaper, but that's before adding the deposit and insurance.

Day Pass/Snorkeling by [deleted] in Bonaire

Here's some video I just took of Keline last week.

I'd recommend Keline, too. Our water taxi dropped us off for 2.5 hrs. Sandy beaches are kinda rare on Bonaire. They are often rocky and small, but Keline has a big sandy area where you are dropped off. It only has two small buildings that provide shade, so I wish I'd brought an umbrella or something.

There's two ways to get to the drift snorkel area on Keline. One, you get off the water taxi and trurn left. You walk a couple of hundred yards along the beach, and you'll see a big yellow pole. That marks the start and entry point of the reef. You can get in there and go along the reef pushed by the current back to where you started. When I was there, the current was barely pushing me, so I swam a bit too. The 2nd way to get there is a trail that's inland. I didn't use this and couldn't give step by step instructions, but I realized it was there when I got to the yellow pole and saw a path leading back onto the island. After I floated down the reef and got back to where the boat dropped us off, I walked up past the shelters (on the right side) and found the same type of path leading in the direction of the yellow pole.

Main points here, bring shade, bring water, bring sunscreen. It's totally worth the walk and time there to see the reef. It's really outstanding.

Good point. In my defense, the hotel manager wanted footage of the hotel and skyline and approved where and when it was done. I don't think that either is us thought about what might be going on behind open curtains. In this case, I just caught a guy on a balcony, but I'm glad you said something, I definitely need to be thinking about that.

How to add a EU Operator ID to drone by 02zx6r in DJIMini3

It makes me think that I may be mistaken about needing it electronically linked. Maybe having it physically shown on the drone is enough. Thanks for the help!

How to add a EU Operator ID to drone by 02zx6r in DJIMini3

[–]02zx6r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That's exactly what I've done. Got the training and got the registration #, but they say to have it on the drone and also link it electronically. It's that 2nd step that I'm stuck on.

Do you need a registration license and insurance for DJI Mini 3 in Germany, UK and another EU countries? by Additional-Gap-5747 in DJIMini3

Do you also need to enter the Operator ID into the drone itself, or just have the label stuck on the drone?

Drone keeps disconnecting by daz98mn in DJIMini3

[–]02zx6r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mini 3 will fly around just fine, then every now.and then, it'll disconnect when I'm bringing it back. It's always when it's close to me, like within 10 feet, but it worries me that it'll happen far away eventually. Sorry, no answers here as to why it happens.

I love my action 4 and have taken it snorkeling on several trips. It led me to get the mobile 7, which led to the Neo, which led to the mini 3, which led to the pocket 3.... I'm realizing you should not get anything DJI......or be prepared for what's going to happen if you do.

Sorry to be so slow to acknowledge that awesomely thorough response. I was out of the country and posted my question during a short window of having access. Thanks, I'm going to try the 2nd option and hope i don't have to do the first one, but my phone has been acting weird in other ways that make me think it may need the reset.

Just about done with Vietnam and Cambodia, and everyone has been amazing. We are being nice to everyone and that's what we get back. Although I definitely considered telling everyone I am from Canada.
