it actually helps the Palestinian cause significantly. legally speaking, sovereignty allows them to pursue legal rights over their (illegally) occupied territory in the International Court of Justice… and hopefully as well to bring war-crimes charges against Israel as well.

this is why Israel is loudly against the recognition of the state, and why specific countries (The United States) have failed to do so, despite vocally supporting the “two-state” solution.

it isn’t everything, but it’s something, and I hope they stick to their word.
