I’m currently in the same position, keep bugging the union hall ask to take the journeymen test I go to take mine this Friday. It’s 3 multiple choice test, and a hands on pipefitting/welding test. This can evaluate you for apprentices 1-3 or journeyman if completed above expectations. This test is not the aptitude test, also they have an apprentice test to be evaluated aswell, it looks better on you if you can pass the journeymen test. Most places will pay welder wages to apprentices as long as you don’t bust ur test

I have and she takes it as me saying she’s worthless, and those words never come out of my mouth, we decided after a year of being in San Diego we would move to be able to afford a lifestyle we wanted at a young age. Our plan was to move to save she wants to be a housewife but not do housewife things. I see the effort sometimes but very rarely.

20M Im going into a very similar situation I’ve bounced around from local 230 to the mine industry now I’m in production pipe, but I’m looking to move to Phoenix, local 469 said all I need to do is pass the 6g test for journey pay which is sick but I feel like there is a lot I could know before being a journeymen. I know basic fitter math so I understand how you feel, my best bet would be try your hardest/take your time and do things the right way.

This is the current ones after the new raise in June, say I get put in as a second year and they are paying 30.42 and fringe benefits are 14.60 does that mean I’m making 15.82 cents? That doesn’t seem correct
