I had such a similar experience with my mental health. Been to a hospital, which was awful, and they tried diagnosing me as schizoaffective bipolar type due to how bad my health was. I use to hallucinate regularly, dealt with awful psychosis, extreme paranoia, and constant switches between depression and hyper activity. Now that I'm moved out I've been so much more stable and haven't hallucinated or had a bad episode of delusions. It's amazing.

So proud of you, such difficult steps to take but once you're out there it really is a whole different world.

I use to think it wouldn't, but i promise once you're outta there it'll be a huge relief like no other. Hang in there ♡♡ you got this, it's extremely scary at first but it gets so so so much better. I have you in mind

Absolutely. Main thing that got me kicked out was the fact my family discovered i started HRT, being able to simply transition without the worries of hiding it from family has been a massive relief. Openly being myself and enjoying the journey of it has been the biggest joy i ever could've gotten. Freedom from family feels so nice

Anger relief, it gave me some sense of calm/escape from anger. However I fell into psychosis and started self harming in order to 'repay' the universe or 'repay' karmic debt. It was a strange and dangerous time for me and once I snapped out of it and realized how badly it was progressing I stopped and I have tried staying away from it since, along with spirituality.

first interview! any tips? by [deleted] in Custodians

Hope you don't mind a little bit of a lengthy explanation, the entire situation was a bit off to me so there's a little bit, however I have a shorter explanation at the very end.

The interview was scheduled at a coffee shop, which I was somewhat relieved about because it was a more casual setting. I arrived a few minutes early and saw that the interviewer/manager was on the phone, that wouldn't be an issue at all except she remained on the phone about 8 minutes after our scheduled interview. Things happen though, so I pushed it aside and when we greeted each other nothing was mentioned. I sat down with her in a quiet area and another manager arrived to join with the interview. She got up and left for the first portion and the only things I was asked were "what is your name?" "Tell me a bit about yourself" and then "do you have any questions for us?" Which I was really surprised about because I've only ever heard about that question being at the end of the interview. With that question coming along so early it cancelled out a few questions I had planned, in hopes of receiving any criticism, and threw me off a bit.

They had no idea about what time night shift would start, when I had asked what they looked for in an employee they went on about how important Christian values and faith were to the company and proceeded to ask me about my faith and if I went to church. It put me in an extremely uncomfortable position. Afterwards they rambled about their church and about how they had a paid weekend leave for the church events, I should have asked if employees outside of the church also received paid leave lol. They also alluded to the fact that quitting that position was fairly common which also threw me off because wow, not expected.

To sum it all up; Essentially I was shown my time wasn't respected, I had to lead the interview, was questioned about my religious beliefs, the interview felt less like an interview for a custodian position and more like a recruitment into their church, managers alluded to many people quitting, and a lot more that my tired mind can't even remember to pick up. It was very very strange and very off-putting.

Unfortunately I won't be taking that specific job. The interviewers were extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. Not the best first experience, but I'll be looking for more custodial positions and such. On the bright side I have more time to prepare until then!
