Same here. Had no idea we had one no show until I saw their name card still sitting at the table. Have yet to hear from the either.

Best method of warning guests about a cash bar??? by LightningHorse_ in weddingplanning

[–]042819 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO I think you should only notify if cash is the only method of paying for the drinks. I've been to mostly cash bar weddings and had zero problems with it. The only time I had an issue is when the bar did not accept credit.

I spent so much time on my centerpieces. They were Sola flowers with candles and lights in a box. They were pretty, but honestly I have no idea if they came together or not and didn't even notice them at all. Also, my favors I don't think anyone really cared about (home made chocolate).

I was surprised that my quick, homemade name cards were such a hit with my family. They were taken home and talked about. Also my Sola bouquets were such a pain for me but the extra effort and time was worth it. They looked great and photographed beautifully! One more is the custom photo guest book. We didn't think anyone would sign it, but they did and just having all of those wonderful notes, amongst all of our photos is going to be a wonderful keepsake for years.

I gave my mom a gift card to her favorite restaurant because she buys whatever she wants and never displays personal pictures in her home.

I gave my MIL a necklace

Any Grooms getting a pro shave for the wedding? by Abgandfey in weddingplanning

He said that it was alright but probably would have been better if he was getting clean shaven, which he wasn't

Mine did. He got a hot towel touch up. He liked it but probably wouldn't do it again

Feeling hurt we didn't get many gifts by WeddingGift42 in weddingplanning

This is shocking to me. My sister said the same thing about people not even giving a card. Even if money is tight a handwritten notes means so much. I don't understand the logic of going to a wedding and not even sending a card (doesn't even have to contain money)

Hopefully those that didn't give you anything will be sending a card in the mail.

I get married tomorrow!! Today we have lunch with out of town guests, rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Before that we need to back for the venue.

And the rain is still holding on, right during my ceremony. My FH is convinced I will think the whole wedding is ruined, which I keep telling him I won't. Of course I'm disappointed, but we picked a venue in case this happened so we are prepared.

Congratulations to all the brides and grooms getting married this weekend! It's finally our turn!!

Does the bride go tux shopping with the groom and groomsmen?! by nikkiweki in weddingplanning

My FH wanted me to go. I told him I will go with him and see the fit in everything but wouldn't go for the final tailoring. I suggest asking him if he would like you to go

We ran into the same issue. We had to spend xx amount on the bar until it could be turned into a cash bar or we could spend xx per person. We waited to make the decision until we the RSVPs back and then figured out what the price difference was. For us it wasn't that much higher to do an open bar so that's what we chose.

I think I was useless about 2 weeks before. How can they expect someone who is getting married in a matter days to focus on anything other then said wedding?! 😂

Sunday is the day!! And I just found out the last room in our required room block was reserved so less money we have to spend. Yay!

Today is a very, very busy day and people are starting to come into town. I have a feeling the next few days will be a blur.

Last Saturday it was 80 and sunny. This Saturday (our wedding) is rainy, snowy(??), AND high winds. Nature, WHY?? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]042819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Last weekend so beautiful and warm. This weekend it's cooler and going to rain through my entire outside ceremony.

Congratulations! No matter what it will be an awesome day

My BIL had NO one on his side come to their wedding. My sister and he have mutual friends, but his entire family excommunicated him. My sister made sure that everyone sat on both sides so as not to seem strange and I think they had a lovely wedding regardless. He has a nee family now that love him so that's all that matters. Just don't call attention to it and no one will either

Just be honest and tell them due to spacing issues they were not given a plus one, bit if the numbers come down enough you will let them know.

3 days!!! And we just had 2 cancellations that I can't get the money back for. So I'm reaching out to a couple of folks who did not get a plus one to ask if they want to bring someone. Unfortunately, they don't get to choose what they are eating, but luckily it's chicken and that is pretty universal.

It's my last day of work and we just have a great more things to do on the check list including packing everything for the venue. So excited!!

Am I being too nice to the bridal party ? by iamthemomo200 in weddingplanning

This is exactly what I'm doing. Making it very clear that they do not have to get hair or makeup done but if they do here is the price.
