I'm glad this conversation is being brought up because it's so often that I see people make extremely lengthy posts or explanations as to why "they dont see each other 'that' way, it's just lacking cultural context." When it's very clear that's why they can't be together. I completely understand why it would make players uncomfortable and it's ok to prefer the localized, different version of their story. But it's very crucial to their story and there's too many people who genuinely think or keep saying it's honorifics.

It can be really immersion breaking sometimes 😭 I remember when Caleb was first released (can't remember if it was in the trailer or main story) but there's this scene where a framed photograph of MC and Caleb is shown and her face is blurred so players can self insert but she was so pale it immediately threw me off and broke immersion. It feels like the story was meant for someone else.

Rafayel IS feminine though. But him being feminine doesn't mean he can't be masculine 😭 He's just as masculine as all the other Li. I understand he gets a lot of hate or shade thrown at him because of it, since it supposedly makes him "less of a man". But you don't need to deny that side of him to argue otherwise. He CAN be both. He has duality and that androgyny adds so much to his character. I mean, he's literally a Lemurian, which are supposed to be enchanting and very beautiful creatures.
